i think the source for 12.3.98 on the servers here is FDAO. if so, i think that it should perhaps say so somewhere on the downloadable text file. i listened to it and when you turn it up you can hear just a slight clip in between songs. doesn't bother me listening to it (in fact you can't even hear it unless you turn it up and listen for it), but i did a torrent for it recently and now there are "corrupt" copies out there. don't know if there are other shows on the servers like this... just thought i would bring it to the attnention of the powers that be.

well there are two conversions on etree of the same tape...but the one that ants has doesn't have any md5s for comparison...so i guess one of us can listen to it and see if it is fdao

I downloaded 3/7/99 and that is FDAO too.

i uploaded both 12.3.98 and 3.7.99 to the server. i got them from the DC hub and looked for sources and verified md5s with etree if at all possible.
if there aren't md5s on etree, it makes it hard to tell if this is actually the TRUE source tape or not.

i had been looking for 12.3.98 for a long time, for some reason i checked the server the other day and it was magically there. i love the show (fdao or not).

well, i will keep searching to see what i can come up with. i can't tell if there are gaps on the shows with my crappy wmp. i should really just get winamp.

it wasn't me, i got it from the DC hub from respected traders... hehe. never know, it could be the only way the show is out there.
edit: for that particular source.:)

its all good bro... like i said, i've had this show on my want list for a while, so i'll take what i can get. someone over at dmbforums said that they have a seamless version of this show. however, it is a different source (in his opinion the audio is a little better), but the seamless one does not include the flecktones filler... which is part of what made me really want to grab this one. he said that he might throw up a torrent of the clean one soon.

A lot of shows that were originally converted in 1998 were done on stand-alone burners, which were cutting edge at the time, but sometimes didn't do the best job of track marking.
Luckily, we've had great advances in technology, and great people who have since reconverted a bunch of those DATs with more exacting methods. :)
