Anyone going to the AZ or NM shows? I have not been there yet. The website says the gates open 2 hours prior. Is this true. I know it is true at some venues, but the Lot parties are the best!

I'm going to the AZ show, but honestly I have no idea when the gates open...but the parking lot gets CRAZY so get there whenever and you'll have a good time.

Great thanks! Do you know of anywhere to stay. I'd like to camp but if its too far...my loss!

Yeah there is really no places to camp unfortunately :( It's kinda concrete jungle out near the pavillion. Downtown Phoenix is only like 10-15 mintues away...try to stay there if you want. Lots of cool places to chill.

It is indeed a concrete jungle and it's HOT. Eve been to Arizona in August? The hottest I've ever been was an Aerosmith at show at Cricket Pavilion, also on August 24, but back in 2001.

Pray for rain.

Last year's show was almost unbearable. A crazy monsoon storm during the show would make my entire year.

Actually, it figures that it will rain, since I actually have seats under the shed this year. If it rains I'll probably want to be out on the lawn to enjoy it. Hm.

yeah luckilly if DMB goes on just before the sun sets it starts getting warm so it will be slightly easy to deal with. but once the sun sets you dont feel like you are going to die

That is the best thing abou desert nights, they cool down right quick. Although I remember a few nights last year when the low was in the high 90s ... what you get for living in a valley paved completely with concrete. But it sure beats the humid climates. Plus, no cicadas.

Three cheers for the West!

We can make it a kick ass night by getting sloshed in the parking lot and then going in so when it starts cooling down we will not be as waisted and it wont even be bothering us lol

So i'll be going to my 2nd show in NM. Does anyone know what journal pavilion is like? Is it big, average, or small compared to other amphitheaters? I want to know because i'm hoping that my seats don't suck. Any input is appreciated.

It's a relatively small amphitheatre, but then you don't need to plan on huge crowds in New Mexcio. I like the venue a lot, nice lawn where I sat for Pearl Jam in 2000. No cover over the seats so far as I can recall; unless they've added one recently. Out on the south end of town, hidden back in the hills. Very nice little venue.
