Just wait till season 4 and the nuclear story arc that occurs...you'll be like double meh...you really need to suspend your belief with this show...though I do have to say there are some believeble things with the show there are others that are just way out in left field.
Well its well acted and well written, so I can overlook, but things such as holding the plutonium core of a Nuke and not dying get to me. Thats the reason I had to stop watching 24, but then again 24's writing went extremely downhill as well...

From what I can tell, its a well written holywood action movie, that entertains with its unbelievable action sequences, but relies upon a good character driven storyline.

Once you start getting into the whole Rambaldi mythos in Alias it's more of an Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider treasure hunt type thing which is what makes it different from 24.

Here's what I was spoiled on:

Syd's mom being alive, the two missing years, Lauren being eeeeeviiiiiil, Sydney having a sister, and the car crash at the end (didn't know about Vaughn's revelation though)

Ryan, avoid spoilers like the plague. Definitely ruined some of the experience for me.

I hate those stupid spoiler buttons. Every time I see one, I just can't help but click it :lol I'm not gonna click another one starting right now

What I love about this show is that each episode picks up literally RIGHT were the last one left off. So its like a big long 24 hour movie. I'm suprised no other show thought of this :rolleyes

No I DL'd one torrent that just had ep 1-3 and then another one with the entire first season. That way I could watch some of them while the other ones were DL'ing.

The first one sounds Rambaldi-ish, doesn't it? And the second..........weird. Very weird. But, with the "...." before and after, it's almost like the end of a countdown, ya know? 3....2.."...1..." (SOMETHING). Sounds cool.

That I saw. I think Episode 1 info originally came from a (primarily casting) source (http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/index.php?showtopic=2527663&view=findpost&p=3275464) who posts at TWoP.

Ep 2 info came from the Deputy Director at SD-1/AllAlias. Though, DD did disclaim that "all info is subject to change." :lol He also said he's supposed to get the first version of script pages for Ep 1 sometime this coming week. (Which is when I will attempt a grand leave of absence!!!)

Seriously...when it comes to reading scripts that is what I won't do...i'll take who is coming and who is going (though now I think I might get off that bandwagon cause there is too much coming out now).

Oh, he won't post the script. But he'll be able to read it and will either give a general hint and then let people ask clarifying questions and then he'll respond to what he can. Usually they get told "don't talk about X or Y." But I think that guy actually works on the show in some form. Not sure though.

Scripts did get leaked for a couple of later eps of Season 3. But then stuff always gets changed at the last minute or taken out, so they stopped.

I don't think I can stay away from confirmations for the latest rumors, that I believe to be true, but after that - I'm out. And I really mean it this time. If Season 5 is the last, I want it to knock me off my ass.

I"m on episode 10 I think. Man oh man its good. The writing is amazing with the plot direction and development and all. Way better than 24 I think. 24 relied too much on insane and obsurd events to progress the plot, Alias just seems so natural. And I totally saw that Shephard killing Danny thing coming, but that was great to tie in.

And the hottest i've ever seen Jennifer Garner was in that Gold Lamet outfit when she was spying on the operation where they put the bomb in the Ambassador guy...

I was so shocked with that episode ("Phase One")

I had just assumed while watching the first season and a half that the whole show would revolve around Sydney trying to take down SD-6. Then bam, SD-6 is done, and it was all part of Sloane's plan. Still the best episode of the series

I don't want it to end... and I'm sick of these long ass breaks. I'm all for her being in every episode but it wouldn't be all that bad if she was not in a few and they had the story line around the other characters. Hmmm... oh well.

One more thing... I think it's funny that Jen will be pregnant on the show. I bet Afleck is loving it too ... that it's Michael Vaughn's kid (yeah right).

Regrettably, I think the era of the 22-episode season is on the decline, if not ending entirely. Premium cable shows like The Sopranos and imports like The Office are setting new standards with seasons of 16 eps or less.

There are plenty of shows that go the distance--Lost and DH on ABC alone. Who knows? It's just a thought.

The season 1 finale was excellent...but the season two premier was a little slow. I guess they had to recap season 1 and draw new viewers into the storyline...

I also didn't like how easily sloane bought the explanation as to why Sydney was Freelancer and why she was in the SD-6 lab on the island when Dixon told him.

Yea I'm the same way...though I watch Smallville and Survivor and not The OC...all of those are on at the same time...I'll probably watch Alias and download the other two. If Survivor sucks this time around i'll stop watching it again...it has been good the past 3 seasons though.

I stopped watching survivor during Africa because they started drinking blood and that was just nasty and degrading...I started watching it again during the Pearl Islands cause it was gonna be about pirates and that Rupert guy looked like a pirate. Each season since then has been pretty good...especially all stars.

Same here. Survivor is a family thing, we all get together and watch it every Thursday.

The OC I went ahead and downloaded both seasons in July, just like I did with Alias, and enjoyed it, so I'll be watching it this year too.

Luckily, we have two VCRs, so I'll watch Survivor, tape Alias, and download OC using torrents.

All the media people who said that Syd's baby's daddy wasn't Vaughn have been corrected now that writers and actual Alias staff have told us what is up.

Apparently there was a plotline change not more than a month ago. Because sources have said that back when JJ said there was no baby, he meant it at the time. But, no more. The baby is in. And the parentage is known. ;)

And If MV is leaving, I'm guessing it will be kept as big a secret as humanly possible right up to the last minute.

I've flipped through them at the book store. They seemed meant for a younger demographic like teenage girls (since they were in that section) so of course I didn't buy it. The behind the scenes book is supposed to be really good obviously though.

Yeah, Ryan, there are people who are mad about that toaster scene. Jack and Irina people sometimes call themselves "toasters" and that scene didn't resonate as well with me either.

I really really love the scene where they are arguing and Syd is like, "Stop baiting him. And stop being such an easy target." That's in The Passage Part 1 I think. And the machine guy scene with U2 just blew me away. So good.

I am rewatching and I'm up to The Passage Part 1 and I was thinking of skipping up to Double Agent but I don't think I will now!!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that didn't like this. The entire show is so well written and acted and played out that this scene just stuck out so badly as not fitting in.

Yeah they are on the plane (laungere scene..OMG.) and the guy walks in and fires the gun. All of a sudden, it cut to "Alternate Take" that showed the previous fight without any sound effects or anything, just faked combat, and Syd accidentally kicks a bowl out of his hand and it flies in the air and she busts out laughing.

Part 2 of "The Passage" it opens up with them on the cargo train. Jack offers Irina a bottle of beer (i think) and she takes it. Jack then says "You're thinking about the toaster aren't you." Then they go on to reminisce about how they set a toaster on fire or something and had too much drink many years ago when they were still married.

but it was all very chummy and awkward.

Have any of y'all watched Veronica Mars? I thought I'd hate it. But it's really good. It's biting humor at times and really good way of integrating flashbacks into new storylines all the while keeping overarching storylines going. Very good show.

ETA: I dunno that you boys would like it all that much. No special effects or anything.

I watched all of Season 1 in about a week. Now I'm considering starting 24.

It did fall apart season 3...this past season was good starting off but then they got into their same rut where they have these filler episodes and the filler episodes just made everything drag. Then by the end it all fell flat and somewhat anti-climatic.

Also, I just got S3 on DVD, and I was surprised at how much better it works when you watch it all the way through. I'd put it right up there with S1.
