It's one of those shows like Lost and Alias where you have to watch it from the beginning. If you don't then you don't get the jokes because they are all in jokes, satire, and hidden sexual/political/social innuendo. It's a comedy for smart people :lol

Yea if you don't catch the jokes then it won't be funny...you really have to pay attention to the show to get it but when you do it it is bliss. Seriously the funniest show on TV.

I honestly was about to give up on the show had "Vaughn" lived after being shot 40 times in the chest. Seriously. I was glad he "died" after that. Alias has done a lot of things that did not compute, but him living after being turned into swiss cheese would have been it for me. Its still shaky that he didn't die on the spot.

But even with that, we of course all know he isn't dead. Everything was obviously faked. (But we know he's been hiding at least 4 months..) So since the death was faked, that means he STILL is alive after being shot 40 times, which doesn't sit well with me. But then again why would the go to such trouble to make the shooting scene so ridiculously excessive?

So who is the blonde girl that decoded the thing? Is that our new character?

Great start to the season, I had totally forgotten about the rumors of Vaughn's "death" so the shooting scene shocked me.

Alias has had roughly between 8-10 million viewers from the beginning...it's a cult show and always will be. Though all the other shows airing at that time really did take alot from Survivor which only had 17mil last night which at it's peak had almost 30mil. ABC is probably pleased that they were in second...they knew they couldn't beat survivor but now they have took a legitimate amount of viewers away from survivor.

Now that I have a moment...

I was pretty disappointed with the episode. The "are they really dead" plotline doesn't work an infinite number of times.

I'm bothered by Sydney's reaction to what amounts to years of lies by Vaughn, although I suppose she's been hating and waiting to kill Sloane for years, and yet she takes a job working for him.

If it supposed to be real, then make it real. If it's supposed to be a soap opera, then make it a soap opera.

Plenty of people haven't died with knives to their stomachs and bullet holes in them. He could have had on a bullet proof vest like the time Sark shot him in the stairwell.

The planning ahead part came with Syd giving him a drink and telling him to shut his eyes, she'd be right there. Rambaldi juice dude. Oh - actually about my post above - he couldn't have had on a bullet proof vest unless the entire hospital staff was in on it too. So scratch that. But I still say once the shooting happened and Vaughn lived through it miraculously - Jack could take it from there. I mean, if the guy got ambushed like that. you know that they'd try again and it'd be much worse. So, take advantage of the situation that he could look like he died from the wounds and fake his death, send him to the Rambaldi juice people. :lol

But it seems to me that, under your logic, Jack DID do it half-assed if Vaughn didn't die immediately upon being shot so many times. Why would Jack plan for Vaughn to get shot that many times, survive until he got through surgery, and then "die?"

Besides, they said in the hospital that his vital organs sustained a lot of damage. But they weren't outright destroyed or he wouldn't have survived until surgery.

Alternatively, if Vaughn does get resurrected (as I'm sure he will be), then I think they need to bring Danny back from the grave. You know, Jack was just trying to protect Sydney and whisked her fiancee' away, faking his own death?
