I have known JeriamyDMB for 2 or 3 years now and he is a really good person, and very accepting of everyone, he was'nt asking for a "hook -up" he was asking if any other gay DMB fans happened to be staying at Bennet Acres, nothing sexual was implied by him, just a question of meeting people who happen to be of the same sexual orientation as him, making new friends., he is not excluding making friends w/ st8 people , i have witnessed him making friends w/ just about everyone he meets, he simply posed a question out of curiousity about making friends w/ other gay DMB fans.
I have and will continue to view the dmb community as a tolerant place, despite a few people , who don't seem to me to be very tolerant.,I'm sure living a life , of everyday being harshly judged , by who you are., sucks., i would not want that burden.- i wish we lived in more tolerant times., people just seem to attack what they don't understand . or believe in., and that sucks, i for one will be no part of it.--Brett

Ya know what? If this is the case why does it matter? If anybody can be friends with anybody else regardless of sexual orientation, why does sexual orientation matter?

And if you wanna talk about tolerance, then your friend should re-word his question, because it makes him seem like the most intolerant of the group. Nobody here has been intolerant at all, just very confused why it matters.

wow, whatever my intentions, they certainly weren't to incite such a heated debate. I don't feel I'm being intolerant towards anybody. I never said that I didn't want to meet straight people. Hell, I'm going with a group of straight people. And I definitely wasn't looking for a hookup on here. Everybody on here has at least one thing in common...we all love DMB. But there are other levels that we can connect on as well. Being gay happens to be another of my levels and thought it would be interesting to meet other gay people that share this interest with me. I'm not going to turn this into a post about the plight of young homosexuals in order to justify my actions, I don't feel I need justification. I just want you to know I wasn't trying to exclude anybody or divide everyone up into groups of gay/straight, black/white, or any other such qualifications. On another note, I find it interesting that less than a minute after I started the thread twosteppn and frankthetank were the first to start posting replies. And, as of yet, not a single gay person seems to have taken much interest in the thread.

Well, I'm not staying at Bennett Acres...but I am gay, well lesbian. I kinda know how DMBJeriamy feels...not that I dont hang around straight people (my DMB travel partner is straight and a guy) but sometimes people go to shows looking to hook up or to meet someone that has the same interests as them, but its hard if youre gay because that chance is minimized. But on the other hand, going to meet other ANTS, gay or straight, is awesome and I am looking forward to this summer tour just so I can experience that.
