I'd like to start looking around for what I'd like to buy for these, sooo... just looking for a set of congas, mostly for acoustic accompany. I haven't tried looking up what Carter's used for acoustic shows, but I'll try that... aside from that, any help is very much appreciated.

I'm not to sure what setting their talking about...But if its anything its the "Demo's in Carters Basement show" not sure on the date. Sorry

Also, I reckmend "TOCA" for the thread starter. or do what my friend did and go to Africa and buy a real goat skined head on a drum..sounds like no other, actually is better then the TOCA set he has.

Carter's played bongos and stuff at acoustic radio shows, chiefly Yoshi's. Fun show :D

Being a drummer/percussionist myself... I can suggest you buy you congas from LP (latin percussion). They are the leader in their field and by far make the best instruments. If I remember correctly, you can see carter playing a pair of LP congas in the rolling stones front page for every day. Anyways, if you are looking to only play acoustic but still want to get some volume out of them, I recommend you get a pair of fiberglass congas. They cut through sound much better and have a much sharper and louder sound than wooden congas. Being that you are a beginner, you would probably want to go with the aspire series unless you are loaded then you could go for one of the upper levels. Anyways, hope this helps you. Good luck with your purchases and have a happy drumming future!

Oh yeah, also forgot to mention- been playing drums for almost 6 years now ;D Those sound good though... definitely gonna try out a bunch of stuff next time I head to Sam Ash...

Edit: Oh, first post! :D Welcome to ants~

ok, i talked to my friend, and he got his djembe when he was in Africa so its not really a brand name or anything, he got it for 90 but it was obviously cheaper since he got it in africa
