I'm having problems laying down extra tracks. I recorded one track, but now I want to record another track along with it, but the subsequent tracks don't like up. I have to really fudge with the tracks to get them to line up.

Anybody else have this problem?

line up time wise?.....I had a problem awhile back where I couldnt add another track to my already one track laid down. I figured it was because I didnt have the whole program I just had the "inner-net trail verison!"

yeah, something with the fact of playing what is already recorded and also recording your sound so there is a delay of like a fraction of a second. just delete that portion out. Pat M is more familiar with it than i am, so try asking him.

maybe. maybe Pat knows... try PMing him, he might be able to provide you with some insight, or tell you exactly how much time you would need to delete to get it to sound right.

I am new to audacity and it will not import any songs that I rip from a disc. Songs that I have dl'd from the internet import with no problem. When I try to import a song ripped from a disc, It gives me a message saying it doesn't recognize the type of file, try importing raw data. When I try that, it just comes up as static. any ideas????

I have had the same problem for a couple years, and there doesnt seem to be a solution. I just line them up the best i can.

I noticed that too. I also had/have the same problem with Sonic Foundry. It pisses me off. The worst part is, it seems the longer the two recordings are, the more off track they get. And it does become noticable.
