I read awhile back Dave was looking into new sound equipment and guitars. I wonder what if any he'll have a different style guitar for this tour or will he use the ever familiar looking Taylors??? interesting to see...

It'd be cool if Carter got more drums.

If that happens, you won't be able to see him anymore...

He'll just be in a sphere of drum heads :lol I'd like Dave to play with a PRS archtop a few times. Beautiful guitars.

i like the taylor guitars dave has regularly for the summer tours. i never did like the ones he uses w/ d&f and d&t, they just don't look good.

I'm looking forward to seeing these PRS guitars that Dave pulls out....they make a sick guitar.

I sure hope he changes guitar. I don't see why he uses a cut-away either.

Carter needs a gong!!
I'm pretty sure he has one already. I've heard it in recordings.

A gong like Mick Fleetwood.
Maybe even a set of "Hit Stix"!

I know I heard it on Minarets on some older shows, and I've seen it behind his set in some pictures.

i'm pretty sure carter has a gong. a small one though. not a huge neil peart type gong.
i'm looking forward to a 30-minute drum solo while his entire set floats up in the air and spins around in circles.
oh, and fire. LOTS of fire.

Dave used the PRS in 2001 for the few times he played Rapunzel on electric and on Fool To Think

PRS stands for Paul Reed Smith...from the top of my head I know that Carlos Santana, Dave Navarro, and Mark Tremanti of Creed all use them. Dave would probably be using a hollowbody model like this one....

I believe that Trey uses some version of PRS, but his is obviously custom.

He probably likes the cutaway. It is possible to get the exact same guitars as he has, except without cutaways, so he specifically got them because he wanted them, not just because they had to be there.
As for the gong, he has a pretty big gong actually, I'll see if I can find a picture of it. It's used mostly just on Minarets, which is why I'm confused as to why he even set it up in 2002, and other years when Minarets wasn't played.

he, like myself, probably likes them better. they are also much easier to play the higher notes, especially for those sweet ass jams.
