I think a dave solo is a great e1 idea. It is very intimate and the crowd really digs it. Then, you bring the band out to jam a kick ass song. One of the best encores I have heard was woodlands 5-5-02. Dave came out and played Long Black Veil solo. It was hauntingly beautiful. Then they played Billies with the nature intro to close the show. oh, BTW , the opener of the show was Warehouse with a Ants set closer.
