6/24 was the second time I've seen DMB in concert. 6/23/03 was the first time, but 6/24 was 10x better. The new songs flowed like the old and the improvisation on Jimi Thing was awesome. The weather fit perfectly into some songs, Rhyme & Reason and Jimi Thing especially. We cut out before the encore but could hear Tripping Billies perfectly as we walked out to the car. The acoustics of that place were great. I hope somebody got a good recording!

Traffic, I know it's a lame-ass excuse, but it wasn't my choice, I can't drive yet, my dad had work the next morning.

we were in lot A and we sat in our parking spot for about an hour until we moved into traffic flowing out of the lot.

This has to be one of the best shows I've ever seen. My girlfriend and I had lawn sits. I'm glad that we made the 8+ hour drive to see the show. I am not happy with Germain Amphitheater. So I don't believe I will ever go there again.

Columbus never dissapoints with the set lists. Every time I have been there they have been solid shows. I am on 8 after this year and all of them have been good.

24-bit, 96kHz .flac24 files of this stereo recording are available immediately.

Mics were arrayed in a Corey-Martin surround configuration, with 4015 subcardioids (the source of this recording) A-B, spaced about 1', and a pair of DPA 4011's oriented vertically, aimed at the roof of the amphitheatre, spaced about 1', and placed behind the forward-facing subcardioids. All channels were tracked to disk simultaneously, and in addition to a 24/96 .flac stereo version, a surround.flac24 version is available, from which a 4-channel DVD-Audio disc (Lf, Rf, Lr, Rr) can be authored. The source for the surround channels was the following:

DPA 4011 > DPA AO0182 XLR > Metric Halo Mobile I/O 2882 +DSP FireWire Interface (slaved to Trak2 clock @ 96kHz via AES) > Apple PowerBook G4/1gHz/768MB (with Hitachi 7K60 7200 RPM Internal Disk) > Metric Halo MIO Beta Recording Console (@ 24-bit / 96kHz).

That's what you get when you chant. I think I'm gonna start a "play whatever the hell you want" chant.
