Hey as most of u guys are aware Dave and the boys are startin to play their new songs for the tour. I was just wonderin how long we will have to wait before people start to get an idea of tabs for these new songs. thanx

I'm gonna try to tape the show in chicago tonight to try to tab the new songs, or maybe some more new songs.

hello again sounds like variations of G C and F for the verses, then F Bb for the pre-chorus or bridge, whatever it is

Joy Ride is basically Rapunzel for the verse

you can figure the rhythm (sp?) by listening to it
then it sounds like E A for the chorus

that's all I've gotten so far for these and I don't even know if they're right but hopefully someone can take it farther. A video would probably help a lot.

Just got back from the show at Tweeter in IL. Those tabs aren't correct. I dont have accurate tabbing because I was too busy enjoying the show to think about it but I know those tabs aren't right.

It sounds much better on joyride to play Dave's normal G chord the whole time...Keep the b string open instead of playing a d on it

was at the friday and sunday shows...i'm pretty positive the first chord (3554) and the last chord (335) are correct, couldn't really see what he was playing for the middle, but I play it like rapunzel...this is what i got

I'm pretty sure its not on a baritone. I've gone to the last 3 shows and I don't recall Dave ever switching guitars before and after a new song.

Remember Dave uses the same stuff over and over again, just differently. And the notes in between the barred G's are up strokes.

Also crazy easy is not played the way any of you showed it.....verse was correct, but the intro/outro/ & chorus are wrong..

The E in the chorus for joyride is somwhere down by frets 9 and 11, and the A in crazy/easy chorus is around 5 and 7 and looks like it requires some fast fungerwork. Of course I have no idea how to tab but hopefully this will help someone else.

No, cuz neither does Dave. I've heard a half a dozen different recordings of the new songs and most have different lyrics every night. Sugar Will is hard to understand and possibly won't be until the album...at the 21st show jsut passed which i got to see, i was pumped as joy ride started, about to start singing along, and then lyrics had changed completely....for the better though.

Notes: I'm not 100% that the first "chord" of the Pre/Post-Chorus is played down around the 3rd fret. It's essentially the same as the first measure of the verse, which I play around the 8th fret, so it may be played around the 8th fret also. However, it's must easier to slide up to the D/F# from the 3rd than the 8th. Also, the fingering for this song is pretty simple, and VERY repetitive. Use your middle finger for the root notes and your index finger for the 3rds, and use your pinky for 2nds and 5ths. For example,

It's a real work-out for your pinky, and a very tough stretch during the minor "chords" (the intro/second measure of the verse, and the first/fourth measure of the chorus). But practice makes perfect, and it's a lot of fun to play once you get it down.

they're almost all in very funky keys if you want to play along

the intro of Crazy Easy is in two parts.. the first measure is in B (or G#m), and the second measure is in A. the concert pitch chord progression is: G#m F# E B, A G D A (you'll need to transpose that for whichever sax you play).. the verse is also in B (or G#m), and the chorus is in A

Joyride is like Rapunzel and Save Me.. Its intro/verse is in C, but it's played more like a funky G7. Its chorus is a straightforward E, with the measures' chords alternating between E major and A major. Its post chorus is odd too, it's like an Em until the last chord (the progression is Em F# G F.. the F doesn't fit well).. and its bridge (when dave wails away) is in C for the most part, but then switches for the last two chords. the progression there is C G Am Em F C Bb D.. the Bb and D don't really fit in that key.

Hello Again isn't too bad, it's pretty much Gm. However, the third measure of each phrase in the verse is a C chord, NOT Cm. Same idea with the chorus. the post-chorus/bridge thing is in Bb until the last two measures, which are Dm and D.

Sugar Will is, for the most part, in Am.. the progression is F Am C Bb.. the only funny part about it is that the Bb measure doesn't fit in the Am key.. the chorus's progression is Dm C G Dm.. I would say this chorus is in Dm, but the G chord throws it off.. so I'd say it's in Am also.. and the outro is just Am over and over

Good Good Time is the most straight-forward one.. it's just in Cm

this is probably WAY more than you wanted to know, but i've been meaning to sort through them for a while anyway :)

Does anyone know how Dave plays Loving Wings, he repeats the same thing throughout the song and it sounds really simple, just a suspended pointer 1 finger, but I still can't figure it out and could really use some good insight. Thanks for any help.

I found this site last night. Not too sure about the accuracy, but the 5 new songs from the summer tour sound close. I'm sure there are parts that are slightly off, but since the songs are so new, they seem to be changing slightly each night anyway....feedback on these anyone?

Hello again is in D now. he started playin it in G, but the opening chord is a D now...(more like a D2 cus he doesn't really hit the high e at first. then he does some add ons and fills. i'll post the whole tab soon. i got sugar will too, but the chorus elludes me. i got the verses perfectly, but not that damn chorus. butch drowns out the guitar on all the versions i have.

i have yet to see a tab for cigg litt in raised B, the intro being little thing, and the outro being hold me down are no brainer, but its tough to get that verse and chorus down with dave being so low in the mix

To the best of my knowledge, there are no studio versions. They haven't been brought into the studio yet. Rather, they probly are as we speak.

I noticed however in the video that dave plays " I hold on to you... " at the 2nd and 4th frets and not positioned at 7 and 9. When played on the 2's and 4's it also gives the ending notes a higher pitched sound like in the song.

Hopefully we'll see a P/V/G or V/G (note-for-note, tablature) books out soon for Stand Up! I know I'm looking forward to the books just for SAWG, OOMH, AB-Intro, EWU
I'll try and contact the publishing company that did all the other books and ask if they have any plans on releasing it soon.

the best place to look would be www.Dmbtabs.com they have the most accurate tabs out there. And for the newer songs go to the message board section on Dmbtabs.com and you should find it on there and if you dont find what you are looking for after a search then post something and im sure someone will be glad to help you.

As Im sure all of you fellow ants have noticed, the old jem "sister" was revivded and Dave played it all through England and last night in St. Louis. Its a gorgeous song and i was wondering if anyone had stumbled into any copies of the alsmost certainly intricate tabs for it? I find i can better appreciate a song once i have personally worked on it for a while. Just proves that all the small touches those guys put on their music really makes the piece incredable. Ill be at the upcomming Columbus show, and the way things are looking now, ill be hearing "Sister" Live.

Hate to be the Debbie Downer here, but I hope you have all applicable rights and permissions. Publishers are ruthless when it comes to this stuff. One of the bands I worked with did a Les Mis show and Hal Leonard came after us about 5 years after the show year because the rights weren't cleared.
