This Angels team seemed really out of it. They only had one way to win games- being "aggressive". They weren't able to get any of that going at all, and had no other things going for them because they didn't have the weapons to utilize anything (power, pitching). I guess playing against the Red Sox didn't help.

Yeah, I just didn't expect them to take "anything" so literally. They threatened to score like, what- twice? Nothing else worked out. I think the Red Sox performed flawlessly, but the Angels should've at least showed better than what they did. Oh well. Kudos :thumbsup

Vlad continues to struggle in the postseason.

They don't have any power whatsoever, so they have to depend on manufacturing runs, stealing bases and such.

When you don't get baserunners, teams like the Angels have no chance to win.

the cowboys barely beat the bills, and that's hilarious.
the yankees lost, and that might be even funnier, considering all those Yankees fans around here were trying to sell their ALCS tickets. I also get to rub it in the face of this one guy that I know....10 bucks says he avoids me, even though he had no problem running his mouth when the yanks were within 2 games.

You guys actually like Dice-K and Wake on the road? I'd be a little hesitant. If I'm a Boston fan I'd rest easier knowing a guy like Schilling would almost assure a win in Cleveland. In fact, part of the reason I thought Boston had the upper hand was that they'd have Dice-K pitching confidently at home and Schilling do his thing on the road. Now I'm predicting a split of the first two games at Fenway with the 2 beasts on the mound for the Indians, and if your games 3 and 4 pitchers bomb in Cleveland.....:shrug

I don't like them...but you need to come out of Boston up 2. No pressure on Dice-K in game 3. PLUS...you need to look ahead.....I DO NOT want Dice-K on the hill for a Game 7!

Touche. I agree it does improve their chances of coming out 2-0, especially with Borowski saving games for the other team- but I see Cleveland coming out with one with those two monsters on the mound. But if it works out, good for Boston. And definitely touche on the game 7 thing.

I think the Sox will beat up on C.C. He wasn't that impressive in game 1 of the ALDS. It's Carmona I am worried about. I'd feel more comfortable with Schilling going up against C.C. and Beckett head to head with Carmona.

I still think we leave town up 2! Beckett and Schilling are $ in the post season!

Hah, if you say so. The only chance you guys have of getting 2 is if you get Borowski in there late. I agree that Game 1 you will probably take, but game 2 will be even more competitive. If you guys don't score on Carmona early in the game, I assure you the Indians will get on the board off Schilling in the later innings.

I'll take Beckett over CC, but I'm not sure about Curt/Carmona. Game 2 will be the tossup. I see the Sox hitting CC, but not Fausto- and Curt's always clutch. IF they get the split, and Byrd does his job at home, I like Cleveland in a long series. But not by that much. That god-forsaken Joe Borowski- I predict he causes Cleveland 2 games.

Yep, I haven't been this excited about the ALCS in 3 years. Chicago/Angels didn't get me going at all, and the games proved why. Detroit/Oakland had me mildly pumped, and it had potential to deliver but was so short.

1. Let's hope the bugs stay away in Cleveland.
2. It's almost cheaper to fly to Cleveland and buy tickets than to buy tickets from the Fenway scalpers.
3. Trot Nixon vs. the Sox! I hope he plays in every game.
4. Why did Johnny Burger King (Keith Foulke) have to retire from the Indians before even playing? This would be even better with that fool involved!

Much better? Vlad has no one hitting behind him, so he's not even a clutch threat anymore. The Angels had one player (Vlad) with 20 HR and 100 RBI. Four players who scored over 75 runs. The Indians had five with 20 HR, two with 100 RBI and six over 75 runs.

Point me out some more stats you think are relevant and I'm sure the Indians were ahead there, too.

You don't get the best record in baseball by jerking off in the dugout, I'm sure you know. No one ever gives Cleveland the credit they deserve because, well, they're Cleveland. And it's going to come back and bite you in the ass when you're walking out of Fenway while we celebrate on your infield.

Runs Scored: Angels 822, Indians 811. But, I do tend to agree with you that the Indians are a better hitting team. They had many 2 out hits with runners on in the ALDS. I just wanted to come up with a stat to prove you wrong because you are an Indians fan! :)

Also....Technically speaking, the Sox had the best record in baseball...Sox 5-2 on the season series, thats why we have games 1 & 2 in Boston!

So what this tells me is your team can hit HRs, but can't hit for average. Only problem with that is, it doesn't matter how many HRs you can hit if you can't make contact, and your team was 14th in the majors in AVG...

You have to jump on them as soon as they are available, I'm guessing. I know some teams do a "lottery" for purchasing tics. At this point though all the regular places are sold out and you can only get them from brokers and such. It does suck.

You're joking, right? :lol

If we need to hit into a double play, we can ask Drew to hit. He is good at that.

I'm no fan of Drew but he did drive in some runs in the Divisional Series.

Quick stats on why Kielty is starting instead of Drew or Ellsbury

Drew: vs. Left: .224 vs. Right: .286

Kielty: vs. Left: .260 vs. Right: .162

Ellsbury: vs. Left: .346 vs. Right: .356

Of course, Ellsbury only has 26 ABs against lefties this season...

They should make a SC commercial where they show mascots beating the crap out of each other, depending on the series or game. I'd love to see Pat the Patriot beat the shit out of the Cowboys dude or something. Or have Wally punch the grinning Indian in the loin cloth :lol

I am slightly "off", that's true.

But i CANNOT stand that EFFING BIRD. It finds me. seriously. If we all plan some kind of Camden Yards excursion next summer, you will see. No matter where I go, the damn thing finds me. Then it takes my hat, rubs my hat into it's armpits, and then shoves it into its beak and pretends to puke it up.

I just wanna put my foot on that damn bird's ass and shove it down to the bottom of the section. He's very cute and friendly looking, but NO, i KNOW that there is a demonic person inside that costume.

Yes, yes and yes!!!! Go Tribe! Tonight will be a tight pitching duel. Tomorrow will be schilling taking it on the chin from Fausto. And game 3 will be a slugfest on the 100 million dollar bust from Japan. This is Cleveland's year! Boston already thinks they won it because they don't have to play New York. For some reason y'all are overlooking the Chief, it will be your demise.

do you NOT know how Boston fans work? They could be up 10-0, no one on, two strikes, two outs bottom of the ninth in game four after winning the first 3 and I still would be worried.

Trust me, Boston fans don't underestimate any one.
