Our pitching is so inconsistent this year :lorraine

And If Dice-K can learn how to throw it over the plate, he'd be in great shape. It's not gonna go the whole year with him throwing 100+ over 5 innings and then hoping the pen can take the last four innings. They're gonna be worn out.

Wakefield last night though :thumbsup :D

Gonzalez was AMAZING in the field but couldn't hit for shit, for some reason Renteria couldn't handle the pressure of Boston (errors/lack of production), and Lugo just sucks at baseball all together.

The Boston Herald reports that the Rockies are interested in Julian Tavarez.
(http://bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?articleid=1092645&srvc=redsox&position=4) A deal to Colorado would shift Tavarez from mop-up man to starter and he pitched for the Rockies back in 2000, going 11-5 with a 4.43 ERA split between the rotation and bullpen.
Source: Boston Herald (http://bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view.bg?articleid=1092645&srvc=redsox&position=4)

:monkey. Tavarez is one of my favorite people on the sox, so humble and just happy to be playing. But that said, he's not helping the team in the least and needs to leave. I'd wish him well elsewhere.

Cool I was in section 103 or 104 i think section 12 with a couple of friends and about 5 drunk guys in front of me just yelling at the top of their lungs either at me or for the camera guy who was walking around.

too bad the game ended like that.

no doubt. i'm glad you had the pleasure of drunk idiots in front of you yelling too. i was about to backhand one of the guys in front of me. every 5 seconds he would yell "MAAAAANNY" and then he switched to "ELLLLLSBURY" while they were out on the field. he got in trouble and they left at about the 4th inning thank god.

Yeah, we couldn't cause of mother's day. My buddies had to get home for their mom's.

Yeah...they are a streaky team. 5 game winning streak.....5 game losing streak....5 game winning streak. lose 3/4 to minn. and now the first game against Baltimore.

That umpire is chicken shit if I must say so. Both ways his strike zone sucked.

Red Sox pitching needs to start showing up, and the bats need to get going more than just the 1st inning.

Its exciting that the last 2 no-hitters in the majors were thrown by the sox' young guys. Sure, no hitters won't necessarily equate to greatness, but someone in that organization is doing their job.

junior94
05-20-2008, 04:37 AM
I'm thinking that of all the special kinda "landmark" things to happen in the game of baseball, a no-hitter has to be the most common, right? I mean just off the top of my head I'm gonna guess that they must average at least 3 times a year happening, among all the teams. I wonder if baseballreference.com would have stats on that.

rickyh24
05-20-2008, 04:43 AM
3 times a year maybe a lot. I'm sure there are some years where it doesn't happen at all.

Don't feel sorry for Dusin.

He's a Kansas fan.
But that's exactly why I feel sorry for him! How can you not?!

I'd like to. But I"m going to the series in August, and working a Friday night and then a double on a saturday when the Sox are in town = LOTS OF MONEY.

Between those two days, I could probably take home 550 bucks easy....
