That's why I like to be on here while watching the game, I pay way less attention to the stupid announcers when I'm surfing Ants during a game.
They fricken better win tonight, I cannot take another 1:30am ending day!!!

I then passed out for good in the 11th inning.. so I did not know the outcome till this morning.

Dice-K/Beckett vs. Shields/Kazmir for Game 1. What do you think? Dice-K is 9-0 on the road this season and will be rested. Beckett would have 4 days rest, but wasn't sharp the last time out, so maybe you throw him.

I honestly thought the Angels were the better team but lost because of stupid mistakes here and there, and the mental toughness that the Redsox had on the Angels was a huge factor too. Would have been fun to see it go back to Anaheim but oh well, sure wish the Angels would gone out and picked up Manny Ramirez this might have turned out entirely different, maybe in the off season they can coax him over from the Dodgers.

That was another fantastic game! I had a bad feeling when Lester didn’t start the 8th and I had almost given up hope when Willits was on 3rd with one out. I can’t believe Aybar wiffed on the bunt! And I don’t know what Scioscia was thinking running a suicide squeeze in that situation! I called a Jay Bay walkoff at the start of the bottom of the 9th and I thought he was going to have an inside the park for a quick second! That would have been awesome! Still, great ending to the game! I can’t wait for this series with the Rays! So much bad blood between these two teams! Shields better watch out for Coco!! He almost got KTFO!! it's nuts
4 years ago, after the runs scored in the 8th, fenway would have been almost catatonic. In fact, it was after timlin gave up the grand slam to vlad if i remember correctly.
Last night, there was a brief scare, but when 'tek ran down willits (how he did this i'm still not sure)there was a feeling of 'ok, that's over, no way we're losing now' in the air. it was nuts. Amazing what a few championships can do. no wonder people hate boston now.
regardless, go sox!

I always thought you could allude to it without using the words "no hitter." I think that is what DO and JR did during Lester's , at least I thought they did. Maybe I'm just imagining things.

Well deep down I knew we probably weren't going to repeat. The rotation wasn't deep enough (Wake wasn't as good, no Schilling) and Papi hasn't been the same, no Manny and somebody switched bodies with Josh Beckett this year.
But I didn't think we'd be getting killed at home, especially after Game 1.
We just need to re-load and go for it next year.

It's a nice thought, and if any team can do that, it's the Sox. But who that was watching the last 2 and 2/3 games started thinking about what they need to address come the offseason? I know Ortiz came through huge in the end, but he's aging, along with Lowell, Varitek, etc. Talent is clearly found in the farm system as evidenced from Pedroia, who I absolutely love and Elsbury, who I'm still hoping starts hitting agagin. So what does Red Sox Nation think they need to address whenever this season ends?

I'm heartbroken now. I had resigned the fact they had lost on Thursday night. It kind of pisses me off that they won 2 games and had a lead in Game 7. So close again. They'd won so many ALCS elimination games.
But winning it all last year lessens this blow.
I'm actually surprised the team made it this far. No Lowell (WS MVP last year), no Schilling, no Manny, a injured Beckett, Varitek hitting like crap, etc. They overcame a lot to make it this far.

Try losing the 01 World Series. Down 2-0 coming back to NY. Winning a nailbiter in game 3. Then watching back to back two run homers to tie with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth to tie games 4 and 5 - both of which we would win in extras to take a 3-2 lead. Then having AZ tie the series at 3 with a drubbing in game 6. Then BATTLING through a 1-1 game in game seven against Schilling and Johnson and having Soriano hit a shot in the top of the ninth to give us a 1 run lead going into the bottom of the ninth with Mo coming in. I had champagne on the table. Then the disaster. Trust me, I can sympathize with the heartbreak for you. Worst baseball moment of my life was seeing Mo walk off the mound while AZ stormed out of their dugout. Absolutely heartbreaking.
