Seriously though, Bartender is a great live song, so much intensity - until the 20 minute Butch solo. Save your chops for Two Step, man! Surprised no one has noticed the absence of it yet.

Rrr! Grog thirsty! Where Bartender???

Also, lots of people have noticed the lack of Bartender and voiced their concern in the 2 million other threads about what hasn't been played yet.

I dunno...I've heard more people craving old songs rather than new.

Also, I don't notice too many people around here typing like they're 14 and playing Counterstrike (I think I've seen that BBQ line over at somethingawful.com though).

so... now people are complaining because the band isn't playing a song that they played at every 2 night stand and has been a big song for them since 2000?

They could play every song and then theyd complain about not all the Recently intros/outros, not the best Two Step intro, the wrong lyrics to Kit Kat Jam and #40 and theyd want one more song. Its impossible.

Bartender...I heard it enough last year and the D+T tour to hold me over for a while.

I still can't tell what's worse...the people who constantly dwell on the negative stuff the band is doing, or the smug people who talk like they're somehow above "them" and do nothing but complain about the complainers.

i say, keep screaming songs like bartender and watchtower on the shelf if it means dave's falsetto is intact for the whole tour. once the falsetto is gone for the summer, that's when its time to bust out bartender

i don't consider myself "above" anyone. every summer, the greed in this community grows. if people areen't complaining about what song the band didn't play, they are asking for a download of the show from last night.

people just can't seem to enjoy the tour. they always have to nit pick evey setlist and analyze what they haven't play yet.

Throw DDTW on that list and hopefully keep WYA away too. I'm down with a good voice for my shows.

Goddammit! They're not playing every song they ever recorded every night. I want a 70 song set covering 1991 to now, plus an encore of all covers. Is this too much to ask?

i in no way think i am "above" anyone, if that was what you were implying.

i'm just TIRED of the complaining. it's one thing to have an opinion, it's another thing to use every chance you get to say this song sucks or that song sucks. we get the point after the like 3rd time you've said it.

we have 5 new songs, setlists are being mixed up, not 1 opener has been repeated, older songs are coming back with a fresh sound, and people are complaing because they HAVEN'T played a certain song yet?

i mean, come on. besides, MY OPINION is that bartender could use a break. it's been a consistent member of the selists for the past 2-3 years and i'm glad to see it taking a break. and i don't mind seeing two step on the rare list either. cause when the band comes back to play those songs that only get hit up a few times a tour they are more insane and intense than i've ever heard.

i know everyone won't be happy. i know that having five new songs means NOTHING to some people if they can't hear their sacred two step or bartender. (and nothing against the songs, i like them all) it all just seems hypocritical--first you ask for new songs, you get them, then you want the same old stuff back. what's the deal?

Jason - I won't quote you since you typed so much.

I only wish that the two extremes of the situation can reach a happy medium, those extremes being the "Everything sucks" people and the "Everything is perfect" people. I've said it before, they're doing some cool stuff this tour. The new songs are coming along and the other songs sound good too. In spite of this, I still wish there were some different songs being tossed into the mix and the new songs not played every single night. That's the only point I'm making. I fall somewhere in between those two extremes. I think the tour is good, but not flawless. Regardless, I'm going to my shows and I'm going to enjoy myself no matter what gets played.

I agree that a lot of people are complaining heavily and I agree that there are other more tactful ways for them to communicate their concerns. However, for every person who complains about something, there's someone there to complain about the complaint. It's a cycle that will probably stick around for the duration of the tour.

I hope I got my point across...I keep getting interupted by these damn customers. They're so annoying.

Jeff--I see exactly what you are saying. I too wouldn't mind seeing more songs thrown in, like maybe seek up more often, or say goodbye. I guess, what just annoys me is that people EXPECT the band to play two step and bartender(and a few other songs) and get semi-angry when they aren't. that's what annoys me the most.

Yeah Jason, I second that opinion. I know many others have stated this point, but when a song is not played in a few years, and then comes back (even if for only a show or two), it makes the song so much more special to hear. Each person can truly appreciate that song and the certain "feeling" it entails. Especially with the songs like JTR, SUAD, #34, etc., etc., that haven't been played in a while, IF they ever do come back into some kind of a rotation, they will more than likely be enjoyed even more (if only for their rarity value). Doing that surely keeps the fanbase anticipating what might get played in the future.
