they soundchecked it first show according to tour central, so better chance than none, like they had been working on it for the album....

It's good...can't say I love it though.
Saw it at D+F...nothing spectacular.
would rather see JTR or Big Eyed Fish some more

I love the song, but don't too much care for what D&F did with it. I would love to see them play it this tour, but realistically, I don't think it will happen. :(

That was pretty good show ... but Sweet Up & Down was poorly done that night. So poorly, you might say, the band hasn't played it since ...

Actually, as I've said before, SUAD is the only new song from 2000 that got worse as they played it. It got ... loose. Maybe sloppy is a better word.

That Denver show had some great moments (look at how they started ... Seek > Rapunzel > Ants , Granny, Bowa) and the DIDO and the encore were great. But it was a very uneven show, overall. 99 at Mile High was much better (IMHO).

Yeah this song has never been great. Keep it on the shelf boys.
I'm glad it was never released.

When it was brand new I thought it was going to be great, the next Tripping Billies or Ants or what have you. But it didn't get better as they played it more, which was weird to me. Ultimately, this song's progression (regressions?) has come to represent the whole Lillywhite session debacle to me ...

But I still think it could be great song. Just keep it simple and fun and rock out. I expect it will show up again some time this summer, at least for a show or two.

I talked to a man before the 6/17 show and he said he personally heard them soundcheck SUAD.

Personally i think it has one... remember i say one... of Boyd's best solos in all of their songs..

I'll admit even though i'm an avid dmb fan, i've never heard this song. i just haven't been able to download it. the server's been down for so long & i can't find anywhere else to get it from. i haven't heard most of the lillywhite session songs that aren't on busted stuff. if anyone can direct me to somewhere i could download these songs i'd be much abliged.

It's a great song, no doubt, but no way it gets played this year...I always heard that some of the band members didn't really like it. It would be a great opener, I think.

Oh, SUAD. Seen it the first two times played. Don't need to again. :)
Actually when it was first played i thought the song has more potential than Grey St. and it had a better crowd reaction.

I'd rather I never hear a live version of Big Eyed Fish again, if they insist on butchering it to the point of being unlistenable. The song was a goddamn masterpiece on the LWS, and ever since they played it live, it's sucked. Busted Stuff's version is a weak intro to Bartender, and it's sad. Leave it on the shelf if you're not gonna do it right.

I Dont Know I Would Love To See Them Pull Out A Big Eyed Fish This Weekend... I Have Seen It Twice And Both Times It Was Really Good... But I Have Listened To Shows It Blows The Big One

that's my opinion on a lot of songs like that. Grace Is Gone is so dissappointing to me now, and it only changed slightly. They've taken the darkness out of it, and it's now 'poppy'.

:thumbsup I couldn't agree more. And it makes it even worse when dave throws in the word fuck just to get an applause of some sorts. One of my fav's on the lws though.
