Hi everybody! My name is Daniel, I live in Sweden, I am really new to this forum so this is my very first posting. And this rookie is a bit desperate.
You see, it´s like this... I met a girl (yeah, maybe you know the story...) a little less than a year ago and she´s really special to me. Her name is Josefin. She´s a big, big fan of Phish and an enormous fan of Dave Matthews - artists who, I have to admit, I hadn´t paid much attention to before I met her. She´s played both of them to me, and even though I don´t see the brilliance in the music that she does I´m beginning to like it more and more. Maybe she´ll get me there eventually.
A couple of weeks ago I read somewhere that Dave Matthews and Trey (of Phish) had recorded something for VH1. I didn´t know that her two favorite artists had ever played together so I asked her about it, and she told me that they had played together on several occasions. I asked her if she had ever heard the two of them playing music together, and can you believe it...she had NEVER heard it! I asked her if she didn´t want to hear what that sounded like and she told me that she would like that very much. Since Josefin has come to mean a lot to me, I want to do this for her.
Thing is, she´s into African music as well and in 6 weeks she´s going to Kenya to work in a school there and she´s not coming back until Christmas. I read some more about that VH1 show, about how Dave and Trey had gone to Africa and played with an African band and it sounded to me like something Josefin would just love to see. I checked the VH 1 website, thinking I could maybe buy that show from them but didn´t find anything. I thought the next best thing would be to get a cd with the two of them playing together but I have no idea which one and it would still not be as special as this VH 1 show.
Is there ANY way you know of that I may get a hold of a copy of this show? Is there a place on the Internet where I can buy it? I saw there was something called a B&P on this forum offering the show, but I am new here and I missed it. I am desperate because I really want to do this for her and I don´t know where to go. I would be very grateful for some help. I am completely in the dark when it comes to burning cds. I don´t know anything about that so I feel limited but I want to do something for whoever helps me. I want to do right by him or her. Again, this is something that would mean a lot to me and, first and foremost, to Josefin. She´s a wonderful person and I want to give her something besides my assurances. I´m hoping.
