Do they buzz more than EXP's or martin marque's?

I've never had an Elixer buzz on me... That usually has more to do with neck tension than string age.

Asking 10 people for their opinion on strings will get you 11 answers, unfortunately. It's the ole' trial and error, more than anything. Personally, I found the coated Martins left their coating everywhere but on the string after a few days. I need a coated string, as I have heinously disgusting hands, and Elixer's the only brand that works well for me. All kinds of things will go into personal preference, from hand sweat to pH of your skin. It's too personal to really get a great answer.

make sure you're using the correct gague string and that your instrument is set up properly. medium strings put more tension on the neck, and therefore the truss rod will be adjusted to counter this. a switch to light strings would then not leave enough relief from the neck and will lead to major buzzing problems. it sounds like your guitar just needs a setup to me.

Elixirs kick royal bootie on acoustic guitars.

My humble, personal, opinion is, however: they SUCK on electrics.

I'm a D'Addario fanboy, though...

D'Addario's are the only way to go.

Good example- D'Addarios last about 30 seconds for me. Just goes to show you how personal the choice is.

I have Elixirs on my five string right now. Obviously they are good strings, but I don't think they are necessary by a long shot. In fact, I'm going to pick up some D'Addarios today. You can pick up a set of D'Addarios for around $25 or so and you get a great sound which in my opinion is right on par with Elixirs.

your paying way too much for your D's, I could get almost two sets of elixirs for that much and they sound and last way longer.
