ok, i want to get together a band, and these are some songs that i think would go well together in a show at a coffee shop or something:

Open Up~Dispatch
STJL (Solo)~DMB
Magaritaville~J.Buffett
Own Song 1
Summer of '69~Bryan Adams
Starfish and Coffee~Prince
Lost Myself in Search of You~Matt Nathanson
Own Song 2
Rainbow~Jack Johnson and G.Love (thicker than water soundtrack)
Finding Time~Chris McCarty Band
Stir it Up~Bob Marley-->
Own Song 3
Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard
The General~Dispatch

if you guys have any songs that might go well/take out some songs, feel free to post your opinions....

eh, still working on it, may take out/add songs. me and my friend are basically on the verge of completing a band, we just need a few more people.

IMO, Crash would go over well in a coffee shop. Also,
Closing Time - Semisonic
Green Eyes - Coldplay
Yesterday or Norweigan Wood - Beatles
Two Coins - Dispatch

I would lose the Bryan Adams song, not play two Matt Nathanson songs in a row (I understand that it's a Prince tune but most people would only recognize it because Nathanson plays it in his own way) and maybe add some Cat Stevens stuff... maybe some Jim Croce.

Also, it's hard to comment on --> songs as I don't really know what you are planning on ripping into.

I hope you find your whole band. Let us know how everything works out!!

I'm not sure that you should do your own songs -> a cover. I think you should introduce the song, play it, and then go into the cover. That way, people won't be confused as to what happened with the song. Also, when you introduce a song, it will automatically peak peoples interest.
