Recommend a guitar stand

I'm looking to buy a guitar stand for my dorm room. Can someone recommend a single guitar stand for an acoustic guitar that doesn't take up too much room and is fairly high-quality? I'd like it to be padded. Thanks!

Very easy to get the guitar in/out of. You don't want one that the guitar can fall out of. That one ^^ has a great flip thing that goes around the neck so it won't fall forward. The ones with the rubber thing that cover it are a pain.

It's a bit more expensive, but it looks pretty high quality.
Trust me, you'll never put that little rubber thing on. The covering on mine has saved my guitar from falling more than once, and it's automatically on.

I'm skeptical of the thick foam rubber. It could rub off and ruin the finish on your guitar. I know i've heard of things like that happening.

My stand just has a nice this rubber (not foam rubber) coating all over where the guitar touches it. Very similar to the one's Pat has.

go to your local music store and get a fender stand, they fold up real nice, don't take up a lot of room and are around $15

Does your guitar have a hard case? If so, put the guitar in it and prop it against a wall. It's the closest thing to "safe" your guitar will be in a dorm room.

i have one of those fender ones that folds up to fit in a little bag- it works pretty well
