Anyone wanna help me out with this one?
It's what the hippies were chanting on the floor of the RNC this afternoon before getting dragged out.
Also, is there any such thing as a good looking protester? Or is it like some kind of requirement you be scary looking? (I'm not being partisan, although at least the kids that were chanting "4 more years", looked like they had showered in the past month :p)

Without protests, a lot of what are country stands for wouldn't be true.... and a lot of rights people have would not belong to them.

but also just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean you should
for instance:
-the kkk showing up at a gay rights parade
-swearing your ass off in front of little kids
-being dumb

When more than 5,500 people die from AIDS in Africa every day, there is no time to waste.
Ok, I'm no Africa expert, so maybe someone could tell me what the fuck is going on over there. We give them a lot of money do we not? What the hell is it doing if this many people are dying everyday?
And how is this disease being spread there? Is it sex? drugs? other ways?

We haven't given them nearly as much money as stated yet, its supposed to be over the long haul. Another problem is in the bill, it states all drugs must be American made to be purchased. While I am all for American made products, drugs are very overpriced due to the research that is involved. The drugs that have to be bought are too expensive to make a difference when millions need drugs and they aren't getting as much money as it sounds. If we really wanted to make a difference, we should allow the drugs to be bought from cheaper areas of the world or for a discount from home.

A lot of that money is given to educate the people about AIDS and how to have safe sex, and for the purchase of drugs for those that have the disease, but all that money really doesn't do anything when most of it is being used by useless leaders in that continent.

"Bush has failed to utilize available federal funding to provide health insurance coverage to children. He also refused to sign an order that would have used federal funding to salvage a bankrupt AIDS drug assistance program that provides medicine to middle class individuals to keep them healthy and working," stated ACT UP's Allison Dinsmore.
Also, some people believe the bush administration conspires with drug companies to set prices so they can finance his campaign. he is in favor of privatizing the health industry, giving unlimited amounts of power to drug corps. this of course is bad news for people with AIDS.

Protesters are all scary because protesting is their "profession". Most say that it is their job to protest. I guess that explains why most are democrats...they need the Welfare that the democratic party promises them since they don't have real jobs!

Heres some info on Bush's contribution to AIDS...
"At the International AIDS Conference last week, the Bush administration announced its refusal to donate a requested $1 billion to the U.N.-sponsored Global Fund to fight the disease. The fund works with 128 countries and is currently $3.6 billion short of its 2005 budget.
U.S. spokesman Randall Tobias said that the United States already donates billions to their own AIDS relief programs. However, the United States focuses its aid only on the small number of countries (approximately 14) that support the president's abstinence-first policy. In addition, the United States' Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief only allows the use of brand-name drugs, which are usually American-made, as opposed to cheaper generic versions. Generic drugs that are allowed under the Global Fund cost as little as $150 per person per year, versus the typical $700 cost of the U.S.-approved drugs."

"Abistinence first" tell that to the young, orphaned children that are brutally raped because an uneducated, desperate man believes that if he has sex with a virgin he'll be cured of AIDS!
Such a sad reality for so many humans!

conservatives aren't protesting because essentially they have nothing to protest. people who protest generally want to bring about change in a radical manner. that is the opposite of the conservative platform.
