So im gettin out of my car for my high schools football game (mansfield ohio) and theres an assload of press and police and shit and i was like "damn, our team sucks, why would they be here?" as a get closer, i see about 5 tour busses to the side, and the one in front says "Kerry/Edwards: a new tommorrow starts right at home" and i just went "well holy shit". Lo and behold, as i walk closer, theres John motherfuckin Kerry and all his secret service people giving my football team a prep talk and throwin the ball around. I tried to go up and shake his hand, but the asshole security guards wouldnt let me. Its ok though, because all i wanted to ask him was "so, how does it feel that one of your own went to the republican convention and badmouthed you in front of the world?" so its ok. I just thought i'd let you guys know that he is so deprate for publicity that he is going to high school football games to promote himself  :haha

Desperate? I don't think so.
Remember when Laura Bush gave her speech? Bush the Prez was at a little league baseball game. How is that any different?

I didnt see Laura's speech, so i didnt know about that. I guess it really isnt any different.
I guess i just never thought about a presidential candidate stopping at my little citys football game...

No big deal. :) I think both candidates are trying to show that they are like the "common man," so they'll show up at sporting events and such.

funny, that's called CAMPAIGNING.
know what that is? how many little league games did bush pitch for?
how many times did bill clintion play his saxaphone?
doing shit like this is exactly what a campaign is, it's been that way since the dawn of america.

So, did the pep talk work? did the team win? I'm basing my vote on whether Kery was a good motivator :)

Actually, in the early days of the republic politicians did not even campaign. It really amazes me what politics have become.

No, we still lost, but they had it together in the first half right after he was done talking to them.. so who knows what he said to them.

Apparently she just got up there and lied the whole time. You know, something like, "Well, my husband didn't really want to go to war..."

I didnt think it was possible but laura bush much actually be a dumber human being than george w. I'm flippin through the chnnales yesterday and i see her face on the tv, stop, and hear her say, "....and we're gonna win the war on terror, and...." at that point i changed the channel before i felt the need to kill myself. That stupid statement just proves that none of them have any idea what this country really faces. You can't "win" anything. Theres nothing to "win". There is no war on terror and people just don't get it. What there is is a bunch of vengenful militant nut jobs that are trying to punish the american people for the actions of our republican presidents over the last thirty years. Clinton was in office for 8 years and only two "practice" attacks occured. They had no desire to hurt clinton, he didnt do anything to them. But Bush, they needed to kill him. Insteads they gave him soemthing to campaign with, disgusting images of him walking through the rubble at ground zero. Landing on air craft carrier. Fucking dispicable. I do a lot of international travel and over the last 4 years its been really embarassing to go anywhere. I literally feel embarassed to be an american because today being an american means subjecting yourself to rule by complete and total bullshit. Nothing is real anymore (except music, praise you lord), and we are forced to live in a fake world. Honestly i'd rather live poor in 3rd world country than be middle class in america.

Yes, I'm sure they would have just called off the 9/11 attacks if Gore, or another democrat, were president.

everyone here knows that i am liberal, but i will call anyone out on something that i believe is totally false. this statement is untrue, because terrorists for the most part view many americans as evil, not just bush. additionally you say that the terrorist attacks during clinton's time were "practice." i don't know what you mean by that, because the first world trade center attack, although not nearly as devastating as other attacks, was clearly a serious effort. i'm sure the terrorists were just as eager to blow up a large enough chunk of it so that the entire building would collapse as the september 11, 2001 terrorists. just because it wasn't as large an attack doesn't mean that it was not serious. the overseas terrorist attacks (there were definitely more than one -- embassy attacks plus the attack on the cole) were also real, not "practice." what everyone must realize is that september 11 wasn't the culmination of all previous attacks on the US -- it's merely the start, unless we can find a way to prevent it or change the conditions internationally so that terrorist organizations have less freedom and so that there is less apathy and hatred (which leads people to terrorist activities).

you would've been a real bad-ass to say something like that, oh wait, i bet that didn't even occur to you until after when you started typing this up. im not a fan of bush, but when he visited my town and i watched his helicopters fly over my house i didn't give him the bird, but i waved. so i bet if you had the chance, you would've smiled and just shook his hand. Kerry is just making campaign stops, there's an election in november, remember? if you think that's desperate wait till you hear this. Bush, who said that Hollywood did not share the values of ordinary Americans had none other than Arnold speak at the convention. If Kerry was really desperate he would've straight out attacked Bush all week.
Oh yeah, and I wonder how Bush felt when Richard Clark spoke out against him.

George Bush even said we couldn't win the war on terror.....oh, wait...he changed his mind, he later said we can win the war on terror....oh, wait after that he said we couldn't sit down and sign a peace treaty with the terrorist but we would still win the war on terror. But, wait...oh hell, nevermind. And they say Kerry flip flops. Bush is such an assclown.

:thumbsup Nobody's forcing you to live here. I'd love to see you go since you feel so strongly. When you get there, (well, you wont have internet or phones, so...) send us a letter to l et us know how things are... if, that is, you can find time between working, building your home, and gathering your own food... all while battling disease and pestilence. :thumbsup
