Our thanksgiving feast at April's dad is being completely catered... So, we won't have to lift a finger (except to open beers) all day!

God, this is gonna ROCK!

Sounds like a good plan, I wouldnt want to work and not make any money either. You will just have to watch yourself on NYE and get some of those Hangover Pills I have been seeing every where. :lol

Hi Tom and Anna, I am putting up my tree everyone, so I am in and out. :p
well NYE is a friday and we will most likely be dead by around 10 so everyone should be out (but for the closers) by then. And we don't open saturdays until 3:30 so that leaves a lot of time for both partying and recovering. :lol

the cooking is my favorite part about turkey day.

though it's going to be weird this year me not being at home for christmas. I haven't started to process that really, like no family tree and I have to get my own tree (if at all) and get my own decorations... ew. I'm gonna not think about this again until after thanksgiving...

I will be frying the bird on Thanksgiving - Family Tradition. Who gets toasted first, the bird or the out-laws (My sister-in-law's husband and I). :lol

I would fry one too if I were cooking...

Please remember! Turn off the flame just while you put the bird in the oil. Then turn it back on.

I was so proud of my first tree. I was living in Maine, all my family in KY. It was 4ft tall and filled with ballerina ornaments :), Now my tree is 7ft I think and I change it all the time. This year it is going to be fun and whimsical. Last year it was white and blue and very fancy.

We live life dangerously and fry in the garage - and yea, turning the flame off is always a good thing.

As for Christmas Trees - we always get ours the weekend after Thanksgiving. I have been begging for a 10foot tree (vaulted ceilings), but alas we always get the funky tree and decorate with a variety of kid made, parent made ornaments.

I came up with a solution to that. I got my boy a smaller tree and they have it in the game room. They get to decorate it however they want :D

you don't want it. digital cable sucks. it will randomly pixelate the whole screen or if you're lucky like me, need to be hard reboot by the cable company every couple of months to make the sound work again.

Absolutely, go for it! Even though he's damn good, he should still be playing a beater guitar for another couple of years. That price for everything is great.

In other news, the test today was cakewalk, but the important stuff happened when I got home. There was a letter for me from the NYPD (the test I took a couple weeks ago).

I PASSED!!! Not that I wasn't sure it was going to happen, but I'm to report to the Academy next Saturday for the next phase. If all goes well, I'll be accepted into the Academy. :D

Not for a month or two... :(

I have to bench press 92% of my body weight once (160), do 41 situps in a minute, and run a mile and a half in 12:38...

Oh boy...

You're so screwed!
Try not to OVER train... Muscles build on the rest days between workouts... Training everyday or every other day will cost you progress as you'll just be tearing down the muscle tissue and never letting it heal (stronger).

Good luck, Casper Milquetoast!

If I've got 3-4 weeks to prepare, what do you recommend?

You may have an idea there... :lol If I can find a way to lose a massive amount of weight in addition to getting a bit stronger, I won't have to bench as much.

Hmmm, no dinner tonight. :p

Please keep in mind I am just kidding... Partly...

Just lose the weight sencibly along with the workout and you will be better off all together.

Every other day, like Kenny said. Mix up your exercises (bench presses, push-ups, flies, etc) to work the same muscles groups you want to improve.

In somewhat related news, since I got here I went from 1˝ mi in 12+ min to 11˝ min. I took 30+ seconds off... just from continuous training.

I gotta go to the library tomorrow, I'll see if it's there.

Man, I'm too pooped to poop right now. Did 15 minutes on the treadmill almost at the pace I need to finished that mile and a half. I'm gonna need another two-two and a half weeks to make it.

As for the bench press, I'm praying for a miracle. :lol At least I only have to do one rep, and if I drop as much weight (healthily of course) between now and the test, that's less I'll have to bench. Basically, it's lots of cardio and smart eating for a long, long time. Tonight I had half a steak quesadilla with a banana. :)

There's no way I can cut out carbs. Not eat as many, yeah, but no way can I cut them out all together.

Like tonight, instead of using a roll for my meal, I used one of those low fat tortilla wraps.
