night 3, the day i didn't feel that great going into the show. i felt bad cause i just got a huge soda and sat down until the show started. i drank that whole damn sprite.

and after the show was over that night, i didn't know what to say or think... or anything. i knew it was all coming to a close.

man, i'm listening to good music, but it's very somber, a friend i haven't talked to in about a year and a half left me a message today and basically bitched me out for not calling her in the past year(she lives in burlington)--but her lifestyle has changed and so have i so much from the friends we were in high school--add on to that i'm thinking about all the good times at the gorge.

fine, i'll admit the one thing i didn't think i ever would:

i was dead tired in the airport. i was sitting there and it was probably the first time i had been alone since i got off the plane. i sat there with music pumping through my headphones and i just lost it. maybe cause i was tired, maybe cause of the whole experience... i don't know, but i was a freakin' baby right there.

sigh. :(

no not random. I remember when I got back it was weird. There was something about that weekend. I had my own set of experiences as did everyone. I think we all came back a little changed.

I'll remember that sun rise. the view from the top of the mountain. the sunset behind the stage. the fly over. the random people everywhere including the airport. and the fact that I slept for a full 24 hours the day after I got back because none of us wanted to go to sleep at night for fear that we would miss something amazing. I remember hugging everyone before i went to bed some of you twice, and doing it again when I woke up before we all left because I knew, and we all knew, that we would never experience that again. Not the same way anyway.

Crumbo
11-24-2004, 12:34 AM
I don't think I've told anyone this:

When I got off the plane at O'Hare and went to the cabstand some older dude comes up to me and says he will charge me only $5 more than a cab to have a limo take me home and I can smoke in there (yea...I was smoking st the time...big fuckin' surprise :lol )

So we start walking into the parking garage and I'm half asleep walking and he says here we are.....it's a fuckin' Toyota Camry but he has the official limo sticker thingy on it and I'm too tired to realize that I shouldn't get into the car. About halfway home I start thinking...what the fuck am I doing...this guys is gonna kill me and take everything I own.

I had him drop me off about a block from my house so he didn't know exactly where I lived.

Jason, I know how you feel. Matt Nathanson just played a show at my school on Saturday. It was the 6th time I had seen him in 6 weeks. It was really sad to see it come to a close, and knowing that I will not be able to see him again for another 8 months at least. I was talking to him in his dressing room, and it was just him and me, and I almost lost it. Luckily I was able to hold it together, and say goodbye.

i remember being so worried that i wouldnt' find Suzanne N1 since she found her own ride there and then ahving her big ol duffel bag sit next to us at the show...thank god the guy's wife next to me was too sick to come.

i remember Anna and I walking back and forth through the line on sat afternoon with the "EVAN BEER ME" sign and having people give us alcohol... and one guy yelling "EVAN, 2 girls are looking for you and they are do-able" :lol

i remember our "meeting spot" in the beer garden and being so upset that all they had were cans of ass in that place.

Here's something really funny. Evan and Suzanne recommended I read a book called Ender's Game. I finally got around to getting it from the library this week. In the book is a character called Bean. (guess where Evan got his name here from?)

When I read books, I usually picture the characters in my head. Every time Bean is in the book, his character is Evan. :lol

I have a moment that I remember from every DMB show I go to:

Night 1: the view from the top of the hill
Night 2: Seek Up
Night 3: Watchtower...because i knew it was almost over :(

I teared up too many times on that trip. I had the best ticket buddy a person could have, we just kind of know what each other is thinking. :)

I don't think I slept much on the flight home, or when I got home. I had to work the next day.

I didn't shower before flying back either. I reeked of campfire for 2 full days. :lol My hat still has a hint of that smokey smell in it. :)

A quote I will never forget. Tom comes in the camper that morning, gives me a hug, and I say you smell like bonfire. Tom says " I AM BONFIRE" :lol

my funny thanksgiving story.

we have a 90lb Lab and most people are not comfortable around dogs that big let alone hyper ones. He is very well behaved and never jumps on anyone or anything but we usually leave him upstairs in one of the bedrooms while we have company over so he stays out of the way. especially when there's food around because he's quite the begger.

Anyway we put him in the office and the following is a transcript of the conversation that follows.

Me: I'm surprised he's not barking this year.
Dad: Maybe he's on the internet
Me: yeah looking at doggy porn...
Me, dad, and brother: :lol

then we hear hims scratching himself *thump thump thump thump thump thump*

Dad: So THAT's What he's doing...

At this point both my brother and I lost it. :lol
then the noise stops.

Dad: Well, he's done.

I literally almost fell off my chair. the thing was my brother, dad and I were the only ones who knew what was going on, everyone else at the table was like :freak: :lol

we laughed so hard we cried from that.

I've been VERY busy working the two jobs. I'm really overwhelmed with school stuff, so I'm cutting back my hours at the gym every week starting next week ( :( ), but I know it's the right decision. Hello ladies, gentlemen, Crumbo. The path to the NYPD just got a lot easier. It turns out those fitness levels (running 1.5 miles in 12:38, benching 92% of my body weight, and 41 situps in a minute) are the required levels for graduating the academy. All I need to do is run a mile and a half in 15 minutes and pass the agility test. The agility test is a little nutty, a 315 yard obstacle course in 2:38, but I think I can do it, just need to train. I go in Wednesday for my medical exam, then find out what's next.
