I was up with 'Hot Guy' like 8th row, on the aisle, I was supposed to be 16th row all the way on the right. I left my seat twice, once to pee and once to try to find you guys. The security guy almost didn't let me back because I was down way farther than my ticket should have allowed me.

Lorraine: I was looking for you night 2 but I figured you probably wouldn't be able to sneak away.

I can't believe how I slept in the most random places, we all averaged about 2 to 3 hours a night, once the sun came up in the camp site the tent got unbearably hot. So we would go to be around 4 and wake up around 8...

I slept on Brit's shoulder for about 15 minutes before mraz's set night 2. I slept during the encore break night 3. slept in the van night 3... slept in the airline terminal on the way out, and most of the way home on the plane.

I went to bed at 10 pm monday night. hit the snooze until the time i was supposed to be at work then I just called out tuesday and went back to bed until 2 pm. Holy hell it was taxing.

The thing that sucks about a venue built into the side of a mountain is that you have to climb the f-ing thing every night to get out. damn.

So I get to my seats N3 and find Dena already there. I think she actually declared her drunkenness too (btw). It was during Mraz. So a very pretty blonde girl/woman/young lady shows up and sits in front of me... with a guy. He leaves. 20 seconds later she turns around and makes a comment about the beauty of the Gorge, etc. I agree and we start talking. From my quick judge of personality/character, she seems genuinely nice. I'm thinking 'ok she ain't flirting cuz she's with this guy', so I just keep talking (when appropriate.. not constantly). I tell her about the Air Force fly over during Mraz on Sat, etc. Well, before I drag his on.. there really is no "juicy" parts. he guy came back. He was equally as nice. Neither were huge DMB fans. They lived (I think) in western WA and only came out for Sunday.
Even later on (in my correct seat I was 2 rows behind her.. not 1, where I hung out during Mraz).. but she would chat or smile or whatever. During the encore break she turned around to talk (just a simple "nice show" blah blah).
They were not the kind of fan that had live shows although he knew live shows existed and I explained about the taping rigs in front of them. But I ended up giving them both my email address in case they wanted to get N3 (once I get it).
Anyhoo... I met so many nice people over the weekend I thought I'd share.

N2 April and I had really really shitty seats on the floor, Section A, Row 42, Seats 3 and 4. We decide to ditch the seats and chill out with everyone on the lawn (best idea ever, turned into the best night of the weekend). I get up there, and Jason tells me there's a newly married couple on the lawn. He says if I'm not using our floor seats that they might want them. I ask the couple and they say yes and thank and all sorts of nice stuff. I get April's ticket, give them ours and off they go. Before they left, they asked if I wanted any money. I said, no way, just enjoy the show.

I know JFK is a big "hub" and that keeps prices lower (than say Htfd or some Canadian airports).. but prices were all over the place for me too. $400 down to $200 and back up just as quickly. I would think you you set a price you knew you'd take and were patient (kept trying back) sooner or later (via orbitz or another site) you'd find something "reasonable".

FYI, this intro came from pretty much nowhere. Dave was just playing a bit of butterfly (I don't even think he was thinking about what he was playing) and Stefan started improv-ing over the top. Then I think Carter came in and they came up with this. I don't know what the lyrics were but I'm assuming they were improv too. After it everyone was quite impressed by what had just happened. Last time I remember anything like this really happening was shoreline last year during the WYA intro - which was also evil. (they also did similar things with loving wings and gravedigger in their really early stages - but I forget the dates)
