Meh, who cares. He won't be re-elected based on his ineptitude, not on his former drug use.

So true...the most important part of the article is that the book was written by a "celeb author."

apparently bush does.
in 99 he was quoted as saying "that's enough of digging into people's past for political gain" when asked about his cocaine usage.... now he's attacking kerry's war record......

When a controverscial ad is played, and you don't explicitly condemn it, you condone it. Bush has repeatedly frefused to condemn such ads.

On Larry King, to name but one example. He was asked if he condemned such ads, and refused to say "no." He tried dodging the question, he tried changing the issue. To go back to your WWII example from another thread, there were many Nazis who never said the words "I condone the killing of Jews," but yet they still did so implicitly. I don't think this is a difficult concept to understand, and thus I'm not going to explain it any more thoroughly.

Rob

Good luck with that one, Robby. EVERYTHING is difficult to explain to people who refuse to understand concepts fundamental to human existance.

Cyber just wants you to provide an example of when Bush explicitly attacked Kerry's record. The truth is Bush never attacked his record, whether he might have agreed/disagreed with the swiftboat veterans is not the question.

When the President condemns all 527 ads, doesn't it seem that the Swift Boat ads would be included in that?

That's quite a poor example you are using. The Nazi's were a group of people who, whether they stated they condoned the killing of jews or not, had among their goals was racial purity and ridding their country of the Jews. That's a far cry from a group playing a controversial ad, and then saying because a person who has nothing to do with the ad or the group doesn't condemn it, that they condone it. And it certainly doesn't qualify as Bush attacking his war record.

If Bush ran on the fact that being a coke addict would make him a better president, then you might have a point.

No one had to dig around for anything on Kerry. He made it his focal point, so now it's what is being talked about. It really shouldn't come as a surprise.
