HELP! Can I attend a vote for change show?

Hi, I was wondering if I could find something out. I am Canadian, and live in the great north. The Vote for Change tickets that I want to buy say that I have to be American. I guess it has something to do with campaign contributions? I have no problem lying on the site to say that I am American, but will their be other checks there? Will I have trouble getting into the show?
