And you thought Bush talked funny?

John F. Kerry speaks:

"The vast majority of our imports come from outside the country." - John F. Kerry

"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure." - John F. Kerry

"One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one word is 'to be prepared'." - John F. Kerry

"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future." - John F. Kerry

"The future will be better tomorrow." - John F. Kerry

"We're going to have the best educated American people in the world." - John F. Kerry

"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made." - John F. Kerry

"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe." - John F. Kerry

"Public speaking is very easy." - John F. Kerry

"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls." - John F. Kerry

"We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or may not occur." - John F. Kerry

"For NASA, space is still a high priority." - John F. Kerry

"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children." - John F. Kerry

"It isn't pollution that's harming the environment. It's the impurities in our air and water that are doing it." - John F. Kerry

“I actually did vote for the $87 Billion support package, before I voted against it” - John F. Kerry

"Its time for the human race to enter the solar system." - John F. Kerry

I'm sure everyone of those quotes are completely accurate.

Your source would be?? Let me guess, an email forwarded to you?

Some website somewhere. And I never claimed they were 100% accurate. I read them, enjoyed them, and decided to post them, in case someone else could get a laugh out of them as well. No harm meant, and I'm sure there was no harm done.

Olive, you need to do some research. Half the quotes that I googled are attributed to Dan Quayle.

It's really sort of pathetic that stuff like this is the strongest case some people can make against a candidate, be it Dan Quayle, George H. W., George W, John Kerry, or whoever. Have you never made a vocal misstep? And think about half the shit Dave says when he's onstage. The guy is some kind of idiot savant. Fortunately, we don't have recording equipment and/or reporters. following us around.

Believe it or not, I agree with you. I wasn't making case for or against anyone. Obviously I was wrong about who actually said these things, but regardless of who said them, I found them to be funny.

That'd be a can of worms a Bush supporter does NOT want to open...

I've always wanted to see Kerry rap to Ice, Ice Baby, while Bush danced like MC Hammer.

True, but at the same time the President needs to be eloquent and have the ability to think and communicate intelligently. It's sad that more people would rather have a President that they can have a beer with instead of one that is a genius.

and the fact is, clinton, bush I, reagan, carter, nixon (the list goes on) probably never misspoke as badly as Bush consistently does. if i had friends who tripped up and said some of the dumb shit he does, i would constantly make fun of them whether i had a voice recorder on me or not.

So speaking clearly means you're a genius?

Speaking correctly is a component of it.

Ever meet someone with autism?

They can have genius iq's and have almost zero ability to express it verbally.

The way in which someone speaks is not a reflection of their intelligence. Someone can be extremely well spoken and dumb as rocks.

I knew you'd come back with an example of someone who is an idiot savant or has a medical condition that prevents them from speaking well, that was my mistake for not being more clear.

But when you do not have a medical condition, mental condition, or any other disorder that prevents you from speaking correctly and you're unable to speak intelligently...then you're not a genius. If you're extremely well spoken then it's nearly impossible to be "dumb as rocks" because of the many aspect of speech that indicate your intelligence (logic, reasoning, vocabulary, diction, etc.).

This still doesn't make any sense. But whatever...You can think Bush is an idiot because he doesn't have excellent speaking skills. It doesn't really matter to me. :)

I don't think he's an idiot, but two essential aspects of the Presidency are to be both a brilliant diplomat and thinker. He's neither.
