In the next few days you will be hearing about the secret call up by the Bush Administration of thousands on National Guard and Reservists. Well, the White House is correct in saying that no one that hasn't been called up already will be added. But they forget to tell you that the 42nd Infantry Division of the Army National Guard was called up in May and are currently in training for deployment to Kuwait in November and Iraq in December, too late for us to vote on it. You can look up the 42 ID on any search engine and see that they are going overseas. The problem is, no one will notice that more than 15,000 National Guard troops are going to war until they're actually on the ground. I know this because my fiance is in that division and it seems scary if the people don't know about it before the election. This is a large amount of people to be affected and I know that the American people will be appalled. This will be the first time a entire National Guard Division has been called up since WWII.

Go to this website http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/iraq_orbat.htm

There is a specific map of Iraq you can look at to see that this Army division, who are used to protecting our homeland will now be in charge of all of Northern Iraq including Baghdad. Is this a good idea to you?? Especially with problems escalating in Iraq? Having ARNG's in Baghdad?

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that the National Guard was already getting called up. The issue that Kerry is bringing up is that he's claiming there's a "secret plan" to call up more after the election.

It isn't a secret plan it's just a plan Bush won't talk about out loud for reasons that are obvious. Unfortunetly more troops is the only answer to this war IMO.

The point of bringing this up is that we will see a lot larger presence of National Guard members in Iraq but not until after the election. Right now there are a few units here (still amounting to a large group) but after November the National Guard will actually be in change of an entire area in Iraq.
