In all fairness that's one hell of an over statement but it's really the only thing I could compare it to.

I'm not a history major but Germany got so many recruits during WWII that didn't really know what they were getting into because the economy was so terrible it was good money to just fight for the power. Is that correct sorta? That's how things are going in Iraq it seems to me. Over 50% un employed and a terrorist offers you $150 to throw a grenade at a passing convoy......may be hard to pass up these days. I have many more choice words for this war but I will say one thing.

WE WILL NOT PULL OUT OF IRAQ.

That simple. It just isn't going to happen. I think allies coming to help us is an event that is right around the corner. Other countries are coming to feel the weight that terrorism is bearing on the entire world. It seems soon we will come to supress it. I give it 4-6 years because other countries just aren't going to put up with it. Germany and France might help now that they aren't taking our money from Oil for Food.

Oh yeah Kerry in '04! WOOT! :haha

Nazi Germany isn't even a good way to compare this.

1) in nazi germany, there were no anti-WW2 demonstrations. those people were killed outright (if there were any).

2) Hitler had total control. Total. Bush does not.

3) The economy is 4.20000 million times better now than it was then. Not even close.

I think everyone has known from the beginning that the US isn't pulling out of Iraq. Doesn't matter who is in there.

I think the point he/she was making is not that Bush is the Hitler, but the terrorist themselves are. Just the way I took that. It really doesn't matter though, many more young lives will be lost, and Iraq will NEVER be a free country.

Ok, from now on. Pull you head out of your ass before you post such idiotic statements. Liberal, Conservative, Green Pary, Independant, etc etc ...I don't care who you are or who you are going to vote far...this is by far the worst thing I have ever read.

Bush recently requested his first intelligence briefing since 2002 (read that a few times- in a time of war, his first request for an intelligence briefing since 2002). His own advisors have stated that the best case scenario for Iraq is economic turmoil, the most likely case is civil war.

Have we gotten rid of one evil just to have another take its place?

Innocent civilians are being recruited by terrorists because they pay better and economy is down. Those we are liberating are starting to turn against us. If you have a better comparison by all means please post. And if you think I'm wrong think again. Passing me off as stupid or ignorant is just ignoring the real problem. Of course there's nothing you can do about it but don't go pretending like that's not what's really going on. That's a bad habit for life. I will admit it's not absolutly outta this world anarchy but it's getting closer. Progress it ain't.

I think most people think you tried to make Bush look like Hitler, but from what I took from it, you were saying the terrorist are more like Nazi Germany. Of course, Bush created this mess, so I guess you could say he has created something like it.

:haha lol No sorry Bush isn't Hitler. Just a bad descison maker IMO. I just really wanted to give people a different view at the war since alot of people don't really seem to see how unstable Iraq is. I didn't really even need to point the finger at Bush (if you haven't by this point something is wrong with you anyway)

Wow that is an awful comparison! Hitler just flat out murdered and slaughtered 6 million Jews for no reason.

Hitler tried to wipe out all the Jews on the planet and Bush is trying to put evil leaders out of power. Does that sound the same to you?

You've also done a good job of misunderstanding the post.

Bush making himself into Hitler? Wait no that's not what the topic was. How about Bush is making Iraq into a place that has very bad (worse) economy with other people there that pay others to attack americans. Just a view on the war many have seemed to over look. Especially those voting for Bush because of his War stance.

Because I don't recall any other countries that a bad economy had anything to do with their recruitment numbers. If you do please post so that peolple may read the whole thread and not think I think Bush is Hitler. lol

Using the Nazi Germany comparison is a little extreme. I would agree that Bush is manipulating issues to fuel his own agenda much like Hitler did. However, the United States is nowhere near the economic state that Post WWI Germany was in. Nor are we trying to achieve former greatness. Germany was just raped after WWI (mainly by France) which allowed the people to be swayed by whoever chose to step up (Hitler).

I think this is more like the scenario in 1984, where there is a constant threat from a foreign power. That allows the government to pretty much do whatever they want "for the sake of national security." If the general population is convinced of a constant threat, then they are more willing to give up rights if they believe that will help dissolve that threat. Hopefully, this country's people know where to draw the line.
