Well the plus of an extended hiatus invariably means that either before it and/or after it we would've just gotten a healthy pack of solid episodes. This certainly counts for the traditional November, February and May sweeps. And more often than not you get carried for the most part with new eps right thru November sweeps, because they can't bog you down with more than just 1 or 2 repeats as most shows would have just premiered in late September anyway. But yea, it is entirely possible to get with just 1 or 2 weeks of repeats right before and/or after November sweeps, because you'll just have come off of a sustantial month in which you have gotten a significant amount of "mythology" for whatever show it is (even non-genre ones), and with the after portion, once you come out of that you're already then on the doorstep or running into the Christmas show which is usually also a big one.

If November 2nd houses a repeat for LOST (that's the first I'm hearing of it, Derek's post here) that doesn't necessarily surprise me, though you mention "but that's during sweeps". You're on the right track with that thought, but the entirety of a sweeps month doesn't always 100% of the time fall exactly into the month. I don't think they really gave us a clear purpose. From what I remember from that episode, they just asked people if they wanted to write a message to anyone. Well I appreciate the apology, really. And I don't think you necessarily have to leave the board, I mean I can't think at all of any bit of a problem I'd ever had with you or anything you'ved posted in the past. If it really is Shannon, i'm really quite disappointed with the writers if they do kill her off (no not because she's hot...even though damn she is so fine). It seems like a really bad cop out because they have only had one backstory on her character and even then it was both her and Boone together in it. And even if they do do a backstory episode for her coming up before she supposedly kicks it, i don't see how they could sum up her whole character in just one backstory episode. Plus the whole thing between her and Sayid...there is so much more that could be done with the character. So I am cautious at believing this spoiler...anyways that's my rambling.

The spoiler talk - The Button IS BAD. They wouldn't get rid of Kate - they've spent too much time on her and JJ and Damon talk about her as though they are as in love with her as JJ used to be with Jennifer Garner. It's been said it's not Claire. And Sun and Jin obviously invest a lot of time into also.

For whatever reason, they just must not have ever truly intended to make much out of Boone and Shannon. We got one episode of backstory on Boone and Shannon, from Boone's perspective and then he bit it. We'll get another episode on Shannon's perspective and then, she's going to bite it.

Now, maybe they are trying hard to deliberately mislead us but they haven't done that on this show outright. Posting fake scripts is just for laughs and the IMDB.com bullshit isn't their fault. So, I don't know why they'd start now. It was easy to figure out Boone was going to bite it, after we were told that Locke was going to be somehow responsible. But I guess we'll find out!!

To answer the thing about Echo being married, he said "divorced" not worse. He does have that accent, so it's hard to tell. I'm glad they fleshed his character out a little more this episode. He was basically just the muscle in the first few of Season 2.

The transcript does have Mr Eko saying "worse". I'm not sure what that means but I'm pretty sure we will find out, hopefully in some kind of back story. I agree that he is one of the more interesting new characters
I'm still going with him being from the drug plane. For as we all know, not everyone dies on plane crashes on this island.
I'm also not going to be so quick to dismiss his "no footprints" line. He seems to be pretty good at tracking and if he says the others leave no footprints I'm guessing that it is significant
