Well, I've listened to Cigarette Lit a couple times and the teases at a lot of the shows(6.17, 7.6, 7.16) and I see absolutely NO correlation between the two.
Does anyone else agree that this little riff is NOT the same riff as Cigarette Lit?
(I'm bringing this up cause I see coverart and websites(not this one) listing CL as a tease on a couple shows and I am just not hearing it at all.)

:thumbsup
The only CL tease I heard during Summer 04 was in the chorus of Joy Ride

Thank God, I thought I was the only one who realized that. They are not similar in any way except for the use of the word "cigarette". Completely different songs.

This was played at 8.28 right before the encore.
I didn't hear any relation to Cig Lit.

Yeah I don't know who over at the Almanac thinks that the tease on 6.17 before WWYS is related to Cigarette Lit. They sound nothing alike. For some reason people love to jump the gun when calling teases, when in all truth, Dave probably only does it on purpose half the time.
A real, purposeful tease would be like the Last Stop tease at Gorge '02.
A lot of the time it's just Dave strumming some random chords before a song starts.
This CL thing though is just weird cause these versions don't sound anything like what we know CL as.

I agree wholeheartedly...and btw, I love the improv/teases (whatever you want to call them). I can't get enough of the 6/17 tease...I hope it shows up in some form on the new album.

Check out the song before Rhyme and Reason on 9-8-04. I think it's pretty cool.
