View Full Version : Neil Young at the Palace tonight???

I don't have any solid information, but I do believe there's a chance he make make an appearance tonight.
I work security for concerts in Toledo, and last night there was the Vote for Change Pearl Jam show in Toledo. Neil Young, along with Peter Frampton and Tim Robbins (the actor), all made guest appearances at the show. Tim Robbins band is opening up PJ's portion of the VFC Tour. Peter and Neil were both only at last night's concert. While I was working backstage, I was standing right by Neil's assistant and some other members of his crew. Neil's main assistant made a comment about having to leave right after the PJ show to head up to the Palace. There's a chance that I might have just heard wrong, but at the same time there's a chance he could show up at the show tonight. And if you're wondering why I didn't just ask... I figured whether or not he was actually going to Detroit, they would say that he's no. Here's hoping for a guest appearance tonight.

Maybe a great Cortez, the Killer is in the works for tonight
Neil Young-->Buffalo Springfield-->For What It's Worth-->DMB-->Awesome Jimi Thing?
"Apparently" it's going to be Watchtower, Cortez, Rockin' in the Free World.
We'll see though.

Neil Young is always a shoe-in to play with PJ. They resurrected his career. The show in Toledo was awesome with a nice AATW and Cortez. But I don't see why Neil would go play with Dave when he can travel around with his buddy Eddie.

I never said it wouldn't happen. I just said I didn't see why Neil would do it. I guess the Dems are pulling out all the stops and shipping around that old has-been to every venue. Just keep him away from Madison.

How the hell did you get from the Palace to Kingston in 1 hour? That's impossible. You are staying at a hotel right?

For all that continue to question my remarks... I saw Neil take over the Toledo Pearl Jam show on Saturday night. I don't mind him guesting on a song or two, but when he starts acting like a front man with his washed-up act, then I start to get annoyed. Seemed to me like Mike, Eddie, and Stone were a bit done with Neil's drawn-out end to Rockin' in the Free World. The man wouldn't stop making his noise and jumping around like a fool. I went to see PJ and enjoyed a bit of Neil, but for him to parade around with his wife and act like he's some sort of star is insane. Guest on a couple songs but not 1 1/2 encores like he did with PJ.

i didn't actually see neil while he was on stage with PJ, but after seeing neil play with DMB last night, i wouldn't doubt what you say. i was pretty pissed off for other reasons going into the concert, but i just got terribly annoyed with how neil was acting on stage. plus when he said, "i'm here representing a group called 'canadians for kerry'" i just wanted to tell him to shut up and go back to canada if he doesn't like this country. that's just my take on neil's appearance last night.

how does supporting a candidate other than the President mean that he doesn't like this country? I'm an American and I support Kerry, does that mean I hate this country too? I'm not trying to start a political fight, I'm just wondering if you could clarify that. If not, I respect that...just curious.

like I said I'm not trying to start a political debate, I'm just looking for clarification of one comment.
