:hug
:lol i REALLY am!

i've been chased around restaurants by my bosses holding ballons before. it's hard to take care of your 8 tables on a friday night during the dinner rush when you're bolting for the back door and crying hysterically (partly because i was laughing at myself!)

yeah, my bills were definately late that week! :D

Once again, you're crackin' my shit up!

Imagine what you'd have to do to get it to look like this: :D

(*thinking of creative ways to tatoo one's ass*)this reminds me of a joke my old man told me years ago:

once upon a time there was a lady who loved the Beach Boys so much that she decided to immortalize them on her body in the form of a tattoo. after much deliberation and trepidation she finally went to the tattoo parlor.
when she got there she discussed the tattoo with the artist and that she wanted it on her heinie.
"ok, lady" the artist replied "for $200 i can write in beautiful sunset colors "Beach Boys Forever" right across your ass"
"oh, gosh! i didn't know it was going to cost that much" the lady said.
"no prob... for $100.00 i can use black ink and just write "Beach Boys" the tat artist responded.
"whoa.. that's STILL too much money!" cried the woman "what can i get for $50??"
well, the tattoo artist had a soft spot in his heart for women and said "for $50 i can tattoo "BB" and you'll always know that it stands for Beach Boys"
the lady was very happy with this price and compromise so she told him to go for it.

when her husband got home from work that night he found the house dim, lit by candles and a note on the mantle for him to meet his wife in the bedroom. intrigued, he walked up the stairs and opened the bedroom door to find his wife crouched on her hands and knees on the bed, her ass pointing at the door, wearing nothing but a towel draped across her butt. she smiled at him over her shoulder and said "take away that towel... i've got a big surprise for you!"
he whipped the towel off in 2 seconds flat then said

WHO THE FUCK IS BOB?????

Here are a few questions for you all. Most of you have taken the VIA (that's the big questionnaire that lists your strengths).

1.) Do you feel the list accurately depicts what you think your strengths are?
2.) Do you use these strengths in your everyday life? How?
3.) In terms of a significant other, is it better to have someone with the same strengths as you, or different strengths? Why?

I expect your answers on my desk tomorrow. :lol

I've decided to find a new job, even though I'm only in my fourth week at Callahan's. I don't like the resturaunt, the way the floor is set up, the fact that it is totally filled with smoke (even though there are nonsmokng sections) so that working a six hour shfit there is like chain smoking the whole time even though I do not smoke! My manager Dave sleeps with the waitresses who are bitches (and apparently sluts) and aren't nice to me because I'm not like that. My one friend there is talked about behind her back, when meanwhile she has more resturaunt expereince and knows what she's doing better than anyone else! The customers are rude when they're sober let alone when they're not! I can't get hours where I want them. I've yet to train two days in a row so the next time I come in I've forgotten what I learned. Great. I'm small so lifting a huge heavy tray of food (like the three pizzas on metal pans yesturday) is not easy for me! I'm expected to just be able to do that - you should see my little shoulders and then you'd know what I mean - and if I'd dropped it I would have been bitched at! The place sucks. Management doesn't know what they are doing. They can't even schedule me according to my availability. There is one girl that hogs tables and ends up needing the other servers to run her food because she's taken on too much, yet she gets all the tips from those tables while the other girls are sitting around doing nothing.

I know. You're right. The others don't like it anymore than I do. I also don't like them. :lol
The ice cream place called me and I didn't interview there because I liked Callahan's at first. I'll have to talk to the managers of the places I applied to already... There are a lot.

come&dancew/me
10-11-2004, 05:07 PM
 Aaaaack! Make it stop!!! Jeez oh man....I gotta admit that I couldn't even get through your entire post. :o You should come here to this thread to find some positive stuff to put into your life. :)

 So how's this: Okay, so you hate your job? Everyone has a job like that. You can't let it take over your life. You should think about it as an opportunity. You learned something. Whether or not you're aware of it now, you learned something about people, and management, and possibley how to spot a position where you will have a better fit the next time.

Hang in there 'till you find a new job, kay? For now, try to think of something positive in your life and share it with us.

Why?

Okay, new exercise people. First off, any thoughts about the questions I asked yesterday?

Second is for those who have taken the VIA already. Once you've identified what your strengths are, the key is to use them in as many facets of your life as possible. This is especially true when you're doing something boring, tedious, or downright terrible.

The trick is to use your strengths to create what's called "flow". Most people already know what flow is, but they don't have an actual definition of it. When you find yourself captivated doing something, lose all track of time, and get completely absorbed doing something. That's flow. A good example is a geologist studying a mineral under the microscope. He looks up, only to see that 4 hours have passed, and the sun's gone down.

What I'd like you to try to do is create this feeling of flow in a boring task. One of the girls in my class years ago used her signature strength of creativity to help her clean the bathroom. She imagined herself as Cinderella, and had to finish cleaning so she could get to the ball. As hokey as it sounds, she got so wrapped up in the fantasy, she not only finished the bathroom quicker than usual, but did a better job than usual, and actually felt good about it afterwards.

Okay class, show me what you can do. :)
