ok, before dmb, i was a huge Clay Aiken fan. *i wait for you to roll your eyes*
anywho, the way that clay sometimes shakes it resembled the way that dave did, and that's what someone commented on a Clay Aiken board I frequented.

Posts like this do make me think I've given people an impression that I am very aggressive and sensitive, but I'm just rather honest....

What I figured out was this: this guy was different and new and in the situation in which we met (ie, a party where alcohol was) it was easy to be attracted to eachother... I suppose I went through a small phase of rebellion, being that I'm so young and - really - I am tied down already. More often than not I love my life, but something came along that distracted me. If you saw any of my posts, I was referring to him as Distraction. Well, I had that much figured out for a while. It took a while longer to comprehend the fact that this new guy was VERY bad for me, not only because he would ruin my life as it is right now (my relationship with Matt and my living situation) but he is just not a good person. Drinks way too much.. kind of violent, sort of antisocial personality.. strongly atheist, condescending, blahblahblahblahblah. You get the idea. Oh btw, why did I like him? He was cute. In short, I made a mistake, but I could have made a much bigger one.

i had a friend who dated a guy that was 9 years older than her(if i remember correctly) from when she was like 17 until she was around 20ish. i was surprised they stayed together so long, cause he really was just in a different mindset in life. she finally got out of it and has been happy ever since. granted, she had some other major problems going on, but she has worked her way through those.

last year we bought this beautiful artificial tree and in honor of its loveliness, i didn't want to put on the el cheapo ornaments we've had since day one, right? pat FINALLY let me have my way and do up the tree with poinsettias, pine cones and cinnamon stick bundles and the only ornaments i put on were the Hallmark keepsakes we've been collecting since '91 (Nick's first year in school). it turned out gorgeous and i told him last year that's how i want to do the tree all the time now.
well, i'm in the middle of doing up the tree yesterday and he starts having a hissy fit because i'm not using our sentimental favorites (they're fucking gaudy & ugly... i'm sorry, it's true!) and then he tells me that i'm being selfish and by not using the ugly ass ornaments its an insult to him and our entire relationship :ugh:
THEN he has a hairy cow because i didn't put up the 4' tree and put the lighthouse ornaments that light up on it.... oh yeah, did i mention? the fancy schmancy prelit martha fucking stewart tree? the light sockets from the ornaments don't fit!!! i already told him i was paring down because (a) we just don't have the room (b) nick isn't a little kid anymore and (c) I'M FUCKING CRIPPLED!!! :BANG

we butt heads a lot @ christmas because all of our "traditions" come from his family (not that i really had one, but you understand right?) for example:
-no presents under the tree until christmas eve after the kid is in bed
-don't put the tree topper on til very last thing on christmas eve
-have to read Twas the Night Before Christmas before putting out the cookies & milk for Santa
i mean, they're nice traditions and all but they're HIS and i never had any say so in the matter.
