I am considering buying one of these. Has anyone had any experience with this model? I've tested them out, and have liked them. But in the long run will it be worth my money?

any taylor in the long run is worth your money, all depends on what one you like, im a fan of the 6/7/9 x14 series but it's up to you

Yeah, i really like the 6/7/9 models, too. but money plays a big role in this decision, too.

I had a 400 series Taylor, after a year or so I wish I would have gone with a different model, I wasnt a big fan of the ovankol for the back/sides. I personnaly do not like Taylor's dreadnoughts. I prefer the x14 series. Myself, I am a big preacher that if you want a taylor to get a 314 ce or non ce. That is honestly one of the best guitars that they make. I've been playing Taylor's for awhile, and the 314 has always been an awesome guitar but the new on is basically a 514, they started using the wood from the 500 series for the 300 series (as far as the back/sides is concerned).

After saying all that, it all comes down to 1 factor...If you like it, then buy it :)

try to get a hold of one of the new fall limited's. i have last years and it has rosewood back and sides. i have a taylor dread 420 which is a limited model and a 414 rosewood from last year and i like the playability of the 414 more.

Damn nice choice winterscold. I'm in a similar situation as well. I definitely wanna go with a Taylor, but I'm torn between the 414 and the 714. I enjoyed the sound and playability of those two the most, but I can't decide if the 7 is worth the extra money.

Anyway, congrats on the new guitar and enjoy. You can't go wrong with a Taylor. ;)

I have a 2000 410, and I love it. I had nice electronics installed, and the guitar has just opened up so much. I like the full sound of the dread, and don't have a problem with the larger design live, but then again I'm rather wide at the shoulder.
