View Full Version : Goo Goo Dolls - Iris (Please help)

Anyone here can help me tune my guitar to play this?
I know I have to put almost all the chords in a D, but I dunno if I have to raise them, or lower them to D.
I´m using AP Tuner, so any help would be appreciate it.

low to high (DADDDD)

e - down to D
B - up to D
G - down to D
D - same D
A - same A
E - down to D

I cannot believe, that for the longest time, i read your handle as dmbchil', like child, only without the d. I feel silly.

Iris is a great song though :)

bm>a>g... for the verse... for the into and chorus dave chords ala 7x07xx... for bm, 5x06, then 3x04xx... theres a 90x9xx in the intro and long bridge...


standard tuning iris!!! haha fools!!!!!!!

(note this only sounds about 93.6-96.7% correct but it beats the hell out of tuning to that other tuning)

bash em for the quality of music and not the tunings. even though the song is mad simple (i happen to like it), when you bring open tunings into the judgement, youre dragging in hosts of talented artists that use similar tunings.

I didn't mean to say that anybody who uses open tunings isn't good. I know there are tons of people who could kick my ass at guitar with just 3 fingers. But I'm saying that the Goo Goo Dolls used to be a rockin' band before they sold out and got on the radio.
