so the UN are meeting in Montreal to decide what to do after the Kyoto protocol.

and already the US administration has buried its witless head in the fucking sand.

refusing to take part.

you can even see the strings being pulled.

this is a true evil.

and on tv they are talking about the sahara and how global warming will destroy the lives of the millions who live there soon.

oh and the weather man says how weve got caught out by the extreme snowfall. highly unusual.
cue footage of stranded motorists.
but hey itll be nice for kids.
cue taboganning footage.

and business leaders are meeting tony blair tommorrow to express their concern about gas supplies.
fuck business leaders what about the rest of us?

if ever property in the country had solar panels or mini wind turbines, just like it has water supply and a satelltie dish perhaps we wouldnt need new nuclear power stations that we cant afford to please these fucking business leaders.

thm

p.s. please excuse the swearing. im mad.

The separate paths taken to a market economy by both China and Russia have greatly differed, as have the results. The obvious glairing difference is the speed at which each country turned toward a market economy. China realized early on that the communist economic system was not working and they slowly started implementing change. While Russia may also have noticed this, they never admitted it, and they failed to make any changes necessary to turn around their economy. Thus, while China’s economy started to stabilize because of the benefits of a market economy, Russia continued to slip further into trouble, with mounting shortages and rising debt (Y&S, 283 and 290). A crisis ensued which forced Russia to act quickly. A market economy was created almost overnight, but unfortunately, the structure was not in place, as it had been in China, for a market economy to be supported. The reformists were so nervous of the return of communism that they used privatization to fight the Communists (Y&S, 299). The corruption in the loans for shares deal only re-emphasized the Russians distrust in capitalism.

What Russia lacked for a successful transition to a market economy that China had were the structures, such as laws and a government willing to enforce those laws, which help make capitalism successful. I believe China will continue to evolve into a more democratic society bringing with it a stronger market economy. Russia, it seems, is on the right track by implementing deregulation and reforming the judicial system (Y&S, 305). However, if corruption continues to weigh on the Russian economy, I believe they will swing back toward more government control. This may be what is needed to help put an end to the problems, which, in turn, may help its civilians gain confidence in the market economy.

Hmmm, my Economics homework. Rock on.

Heart Problems
It is accepted in medical circles today that marijuana use causes no evident long-term cardiovascular problems for normal persons. Marijuana smoking, however, does cause changes in the heart and body's circulation characteristic of stress, which may complicate preexisting cardiovascular problems like hypertension, cerebrovascular disease, and coronary atherosclerosis. Marijuana's effects on blood pressure are complex and inconsistent as of yet.

We're just getting done with our show at Penn State. DMB pulled out a diverse set, playing Minarets for the first time in two and a half years. Two Step took twists and turns that we've never heard before, with Kras and Rashawn from Soulive sitting in. It's been fun listening each night this tour as the band members sneak holiday tunes into their solos. The hands are loading the trucks then we're headed for Rochester. See y'all tomorrow.

Here is a short story i thought was funny..i found this in a book called "Uncle John's all purpose bathroom reader" it has a bunch of misc facts, stories etc...

This came from the chapter Ironic Deaths..

Friedrich Riesfeldt a zookeeper in Paderborn, Germany

Story: When his elephant Stefan (ironic :) ) became constipated, Riesfeldt fed it 22 doses of animal laxative...and when that didn't work, fed it more than a bushel of high-fiber berries, figs, and prunes. Still no luck.

Final Irony: The frustrated zookeeper than gave Stefan an olive-oil enema. that did it. According to one account, the elephant suddenly relased approx 200 pounds of manure, killing Riesfeldt. "The sheer force of the elephants unexpected defecation knocked Mr. Riesfeldt to the ground, where he struck his head on a rock and lay unconsious as the elephant continued to evacuate his bowels on top of him, "police detective Erik Dern explained. "With no one there to help him, he lay under all that dung for at least an hour and suffocated."

..guess he really got shitted on:lol :lol

Cheers-

He then adopted a pose I got to know well: Shoulders hunch, mouth ajar, eyes glazed, and thumbs bobbing. While I spoke, he emitted a series of grunts to pretend like he was listening.

Blackberry's were also present at meetings, where the table was lined with a dozen handhelds, armed to go off the moment someone threatened to complete a sentence. There, on the other end of conference calls, were I could here someone grunting and pretending to listen 3,000 miles away. I even saw a man take his to the urinal, were he Blackberried with one hand. But the scariest moment came when a woman walking in Blackberry wondered into traffic. A car sped towards her, but was deaf to her friend's warnings. I wanted to shout "she can't hear you, you're only talking. Quick, somebody, send her a text".

"I understand the need to be more efficient. I just feel the death of one-on-one interaction is too high a price to pay. It is now considered a waste of time to focus your attention on a single person. People fail to realize that being rude to several people at once does not qualify as multitasking. I young coworker possessed a dizzying capacity for juggling devices, simultaneously conducting conversations on, and this is no exaggeration, a Blackberry, a SideKick, a cell phone, and two computers running separate email accounts. I had exactly one discussion with her the entire time we worked together. It lasted about 45 seconds, or the length of an elevator ride. She turned out to be interesting, funny, engaging, until the elevator doors opened. Then her coverage resumed, and she hopped right back on her Blackberry."

when love beckons
his ways are often hard and steep
when his wings unfold
ye yield to all he speaks
the soul it might be hidden there among his pinions
oh you may wear a wound that truly spoke to you
believe in all that voice and follow through
follow so on and on

What pharmacy school does to you:

Right now, at this very moment, I am stuffing beer into my bookbag and heading back to the library...to drink with all the other pharmacy students there...on the 5th floor. As for my final tomorrow, alcohol will only help me study.

"Most Richly Blessed"

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve. I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health, that I might do great things. I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy. I was given poverty, that I might become wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness, that I might feel the need for God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life. I was given Life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I had hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers and true needs were fulfilled.
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.

And I would say that we have courted disaster, in Iraq, in North Korea, in Iran, generally with regard to domestic crises like Katrina, Rita and I could go on back, we haven’t done very well on anything like that in a long time. And if something comes along that is truly serious, truly serious, something like a nuclear weapon going off in a major American city, or something like a major pandemic, you are going to see the ineptitude of this government in a way that will take you back to the Declaration of Independence.

They're selling postcards of the hanging
They're painting the passports brown
The beauty parlor is filled with sailors
The circus is in town
Here comes the blind commissioner
They've got him in a trance
One hand is tied to the tight-rope walker
The other is in his pants
And the riot squad they're restless
They need somewhere to go
As Lady and I look out tonight
From Desolation Row.

Cinderella, she seems so easy
"It takes one to know one," she smiles
And puts her hands in her back pockets
Bette Davis style
And in comes Romeo, he's moaning
"You belong to Me I Believe"
And someone says, "You're in the wrong place, my friend
You better leave"
And the only sound that's left
After the ambulances go
Is Cinderella sweeping up
On Desolation Row.

Now the moon is almost hidden
The stars are beginning to hide
The fortunetelling lady
Has even taken all her things inside
All except for Cain and Abel
And the hunchback of Notre Dame
Everybody is making love
Or else expecting rain
And the Good Samaritan, he's dressing
He's getting ready for the show
He's going to the carnival tonight
On Desolation Row.
Now Ophelia, she's 'neath the window
For her I feel so afraid
On her twenty-second birthday
She already is an old maid
To her, death is quite romantic
She wears an iron vest
Her profession's her religion
Her sin is her lifelessness
And though her eyes are fixed upon
Noah's great rainbow
She spends her time peeking
Into Desolation Row.

Einstein, disguised as Robin Hood
With his memories in a trunk
Passed this way an hour ago
With his friend, a jealous monk
He looked so immaculately frightful
As he bummed a cigarette
Then he went off sniffing drainpipes
And reciting the alphabet
You would not think to look at him
But he was famous long ago
For playing the electric violin
On Desolation Row.

Dr. Filth, he keeps his world
Inside of a leather cup
But all his sexless patients
They're trying to blow it up
Now his nurse, some local loser
She's in charge of the cyanide hole
And she also keeps the cards that read
"Have Mercy on His Soul"
They all play on penny whistles
You can hear them blow
If you lean your head out far enough
From Desolation Row.
Across the street they've nailed the curtains
They're getting ready for the feast
The Phantom of the Opera
In a perfect image of a priest
They're spoonfeeding Casanova
To get him to feel more assured
Then they'll kill him with self-confidence
After poisoning him with words
And the Phantom's shouting to skinny girls
"Get outa here if you don't know"
Casanova is just being punished for going
To Desolation Row.

At midnight all the agents
And the superhuman crew
Come out and round up everyone
That knows more than they do
Then they bring them to the factory
Where the heart-attack machine
Is strapped across their shoulders
And then the kerosene
Is brought down from the castles
By insurance men who go
Check to see that nobody is escaping
To Desolation Row.

They be to Nero's Neptune
The Titanic sails at dawn
Everybody's shouting
"Which side are you on ?"
And Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot
Fighting in the captain's tower
While calypso singers laugh at them
And fishermen hold flowers
Between the windows of the sea
Where lovely mermaids flow
And nobody has to think too much
About Desolation Row.
Yes, I received your letter yesterday
About the time the door knob broke
When you asked me how I was doing
Was that some kind of joke ?
All these people that you mention
Yes, I know them, they're quite lame
I had to rearrange their faces
And give them all another name
Right now I can't read too good
Dont send me no more letters no
Not unless you mail them
From Desolation Row.

Nice, some Dylan lyrics

But, now, between Kevin’s job as a police officer and Lucy’s own demanding studies to become a minister, the newlyweds haven’t spent time alone in weeks. Sure, marriage has its ups and downs. The question on Lucy’s mind is whether her first anniversary with Kevin will turn out to be for the better or the worse!

'Weekend on the Rocks'
Reviewed by Leah Greenblatt

There are few natural settings more stunning than Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, few bands more committed to performing than the Dave Matthews Band, and few fan bases more good-naturedly crazy about their guy.

The double-disc "Weekend on the Rocks," recorded at the venue last September, leans heaviest on this year's Stand Up, but doesn't shy away from occasional DMB oldies ("Crash Into Me") and genuine goodies (a cover of the Zombies' "Time of the Season"). The concert DVD puts listeners right there (minus, perhaps, a certain herb-scented breeze).

I don't feel it's music because if had 3 hours on a saturday morning, a four track recorder and $50 to go scour yardsales for random instruments I could piece together a 12 track album that is everybit as "revolutionary" and different as the White Stripes. By definition, yes, it's music. We're splitting hairs at this point. But also by definition, the sounds of the cars driving by, my roommate taking a shower and the clicking of my keyboard is also music

If you want more gruesome, good luck ever seeing it in a theatre. This pushed the limits of R in quite a few ways.

Giselle Bundchen
Giselle's vital stats are 36-24-35 and she is 5 foot 11 inches. She was born in 1980. Aside from that, she is one of the original members of Leo's Posse, currently 40,000 and growing. She speaks very little English. But who cares, right

I am thinking it's a sign
that the freckles in our eyes
are mirror images
and when we kiss they're perfectly aligned.

And I have to speculate
that God Himself did make
us into corresponding shapes
like puzzle pieces from the clay.
