Why can't we talk for awhile?
And breathe, breathe, deep for me James.

Head down wondering what will become of me
Why concern we cannot see
But no reason to abandon it
Time is short, time, but that's all right
Maybe I'll go in the middle of the night
Take your hands from your eyes, my love
'Cause all good things must come to an end some time

If you take an Oriental person and spin him around
several times, does he become disoriented?

If people from Poland are called Poles, why
aren't people from Holland called Holes?

If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?

When cheese gets its picture taken, what does it say?

Why isn't the number 11 pronounced onety one?

Do Lipton Tea employees take coffee breaks?

I thought about how mothers feed their babies

what do Chinese mothers use? Toothpicks?

If it's true that we are here to help others,
then what exactly are the others here for?

Ever wonder what the speed of lightning would
be if it didn't zigzag?

Last night I played a blank tape at full blast.

RhinoClip™ Removable Post & Belt Clip System
What is the proper way to attach the metal post to my aluminum hardcase? The stainless steel post available on many RhinoSkin aluminum hardcases is a user option. It may be added or removed depending on user preference. Like any threaded device, strenuous activity can cause the post to become loose. To attach the post for maximum security, we recommend users apply a minimal amount of additional pressure with a pair of common pliers to ensure the post stays in place. An application of thread lock or other similar product may also provide additional security.

13 Ways to Disrupt an Opponent
Technical perfection of technique is the first priority of training, but it can only go so far. There is only so much speed you can develop in a front kick, so much force in a block or strike. There is no better way to make your defense stronger, or your offense more effective, than by disrupting your opponent's mental, physical, or emotional balance.

This disruption should be a part of every game plan, and should be included in the before, during and after an attack phases. It must be learned, studied, and practiced just like kicking and punching.

The most general description of this disruption process is learning to create opportunities to do the unexpected, the unconventional. Learn to follow the line of least expectation. There is nothing more demoralizing, frustrating, or intimidating than facing an unpredictable opponent.

The best ways to disrupt involve timing, distance, form and attitude. They involve inducing a sense of frustration because you don't allow, don't follow the game plan or expectation of your opponent. It thwarts his attacks, and makes his defenses ineffective. His mental and emotional unbalance creates a tentativeness in his technique, gaps in his defense. This will lead to your quick victory.

The following methods can be modified and toned down to suit competition, or business, or used full-out, pedal-to-the-metal for personal self-defense. Learn to change up and use these methods like you do kicks or punches. They can be used singly or in combination, and placed strategically for the most effect.

1) Arrive Early. Take away his starting point or position, claim it as your own. Show more readiness, desire to win, will power.

2) Arrive Late. Be frustratingly slow. Fake weakness, fatigue, injury, lassitude, or indifference.

3) Find Ways to Be Rude. Be frustratingly disdainful of your opponent.Taunt, ignore, or dominate. These ways to be rude include verbal, gesture, positional, and attitudinal. Or, Find that which he holds dear and "mess with it".

4) Mirror or Copycat. Become a copycat, mirror the movement, speed, attitude and emotional state, stance and posture, footwork, kiai, his style, even his breathing. Let him feel that he knows the territory, give him comfort. Then after moving in "synch" with your opponent ---change up. This can be sudden, or gradual. For example, fighting a judoka. Reach out as if to go for the traditional tie-up of lapel and sleeve... then kick him low, and punch him high! Use his expectations against him.

5) Leave Openings, Leave Bait. Just out of range, or at an odd angle, and tantalizingly appealing. Have something ready to go when the opponent tries to take his prize. This can be an often repeated theme that can be used to draw an opponent more and more off balance.

6) Use Noise, Gesture and Gaze. Use noise like kiai, hand clapping, or foot-stomping to break the opponent's concentration. And/ or redirect his attention through gesture, pointing, positioning and gaze. Get him to look where you want him to look. Reward his response... with a smile, or nod. This training can start even before a match.

7) Be Overly Friendly and Courteous. Be friendly so that it is hard to face you, or be so courteous to the point of obsequiousness that he feels uncomfortable. In other words use emotional disruption.

8) Demonstrate Superior Skill/ Or Appear Weak. Let your opponent see (or hear about) you dominate, humiliate, and skillfully dispatch a few opponents to induce fear or worry that you'll do the same to them. Give them a clear mental image of their fate, and don't make it pretty.

Or on the flip side, let them think you are weak, so they are not emotionally prepared for your fierce onslaught.

9) Align with Superior Force/ Disrupt their Support System. Let them see or believe that you are aligned with a superior force that the opponent respects or fears. Take away or create disruption in the support system so that they feel isolated.

10) Attack Fiercely and Quickly. Be the first off the mark, beating the opponent to the attack. This should be used in an unpredictable fashion.

11) Induce Over-reaction to an Attack or Feint. If the opponent is a runner or a blocker, or has already been hit a few times it is easy to get him to over-react, reaching for blocks, or throwing himself away from attack. This leaves him open on the opposite side.

Start throwing more information than he can process, get him to block non-existing techniques. This will make scoring with real attacks easier.

12) Break Him Down!

Break his concentration with noise, distraction, unbalancing, pain or injury.
Break his balance through pushes, pulls, sweeps and evasion.
Break his attack with kiai, evasion, jamming, thorough blocking and counter, by beating him to the attack, or by taking away his targets just prior to attack.
Break his blocking through feints and fakes.
Break his set point, by moving just prior to his move.
13) Start Settled and Calm, Create Fear and Indecision. Make sure that you go in prepared, knowing yourself, knowing your opponent. Have a clear and flexible game plan. Have good opening moves, good closing moves. Have countermeasures prepared for your opponent's best moves.

Create unanswered questions and fears in your opponent's mind. A simple question like, "Is your reverse punch still your best technique?" asked a moment before a match, would create major doubt and indecision.

WRITING DIRECTIONS:
Each week students in all of my classes must bring in 1 current eventarticle from that school week with a 6-15 sentence written summary including a basic retelling of the content of the article using the basic news ideas of the 5W's (WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and HOW). Along with a summary each student must write out their opinion to the events in the article - what do they think about it. Each different course must ALSO have specific information related to their topic.
POINTS & COLLECTION METHODS:
Each Friday students will eitherturn in the article & written summary for a possible 10 points or fill out a current event chart with the article title, date published, & source (CNN, NYTimes, Kzoo Gazette, etc). If I do not collect the article, filling out the chart earns 1-5 points. I will then collect the article & summary on another Friday. Fridays we have tests current events are due the following Monday.
RESTRICTIONS ON ARTICLES:
The only restricts are that students meet the requirementslisted above and below AND THAT THE ARTICLE IS FACTUAL, AND NOT AN EDITORIAL OR CARTOON.

Bartender, please
I know it's late
I know your last call has come and gone
Why don't you fill me up with one more long, long drink
And then I'll go home
Come on - hook me up
Bartender hook me up
Lock the door and start counting the money if you need to - but
Come on - come on - come on - come on
Hook me up
Bartender please, won't you

I wasn't planning on getting drunk tonight - but
It seemed like the right decision tonight
As luck would have it
She stood me up
I'm not myself - I was wondering if - I was wondering if -
I was wondering if I might hae been somebody other than myself
If I could have been somebody other than myself -- anyone

Could I have been a parking lot attendant
Could I have been a millionaire up there on Fifth Avenue
Could I have been lost late at night somewhere in Central Park
Could I hae been on the stage?
Could I have been anyone other than me.......

What a day! We're in Nassau, Bahamas for the Caribbean Cruise Getaway. Everything started off great for our show on the beach. 4000 very happy looking people arrived on the island by ferry over the coarse of a few hours. Dave & Tim took the stage around 7 PM and played five songs before the rest of the band joined in. The rain started not long after, and turned into a storm that forced us to pause the show. Much of our electronic equipment was waterlogged and damaged. Some of the audience headed back to the ships. About 750 remained and about an hour later, the rain let-up enough for us to get some acoustic guitars and vocals working. Dave and Tim played a few more songs, then Dave and Trey, a few more. The feeling remained that we owed those that left early, a bit more show. After some quick planning, we headed to the boats ourselves to finish what we came here to do. We started on the Sovereign of the Seas, where Toots and the Maytals equipment was set-up. We plugged into their gear and had the show up and running in little time. The band jammed for about an hour, completing their intended set list. We then hopped across the dock and did the same thing on the Majesty, using Bob Weir and Ratdog's equipment. Lucky for us, Bob was close by and sat in on a tune. The shows were excellent. We all had a blast and it looked like the crowd did to. The boats had a schedule to keep and needed to head back to sea. We were escorted off the Majesty and walked the docks back to our vans, to the cheers of the fans from the decks above. All in all, a surreal, yet exhilarating experience that we will not soon forget.

Standing here
The old man said to me
"Long before these crowded streets
Here stood my dreaming tree"

"Nobody drives like me. Nobody. I'm doing things in this car, you have no idea they're going on."

Isn't it strange
How we move our lives for another day

Well, in the end my friend, we will all be together again....

Father
It’s not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
You’re still young, that’s your fault,
There’s so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I’m happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that it’s not easy,
To be calm when you’ve found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you’ve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

Son
How can I try to explain, when I do he turns away again.
It’s always been the same, same old story.
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
Now there’s a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.

Father
It’s not time to make a change,
Just sit down, take it slowly.
You’re still young, that’s your fault,
There’s so much you have to go through.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I’m happy.
(son-- away away away, I know I have to
Make this decision alone - no)
Son
All the times that I cried, keeping all the things I knew inside,
It’s hard, but it’s harder to ignore it.
If they were right, I’d agree, but it’s them you know not me.
Now there’s a way and I know that I have to go away.
I know I have to go.
(father-- stay stay stay, why must you go and
Make this decision alone? )

I have trouble believing this, since lately the Warehouse has not really been giving the fans what we want. And after all, it is the official fan association.

"Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as
both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no
mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant,
vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates
what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a
by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these
venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the
violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only
verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for
the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant
and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most
verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to
meet you and you may call me V."

Horacio912: val kilmer happens to use 3.7 bottles of supreme hold hair spray by RAVE before each scene

Auto response from Dougie9816: has anyone ever noticed val kilmers perfectly spiked hair even after he takes off his helmet in top gun?

Horacio912: they actually cut foam out of his helmet to make room for the hair
Horacio912: they decided this was safe, b/c the spikes are virtually indestructible

We have both been here before
Knockin' upon love's door
Begging for someone to let us in
Knowing this we can agree to keep each other company
Never to go down that road again

My beloved one, my beloved one

Your eyes shine through me
You are so divine to me
Your heart has a home in mine
We won't have to say a word
With a touch all shall be heard
When I search my heart it's you I find

My beloved one, my beloved one, my beloved one

You were meant for me, I believe you were sent to me from a dream straight into to my heart
Hold your body and close to me
You mean the most to me
We will keep each other safe from harm

My beloved one, my beloved one, my beloved one

Jentzsch: I...I don't think that Penthouse magazine, given its past activities, would ever do a decent article on Mr. Hubbard. I think they would do everything they could to try to denigrate, to try to impugn the man, to try to destroy any credibility he has... I've read Penthouse and the hate they have for anyone who is opposed to psychiatry, anyone who is opposed to electric shock and psychosurgery, as we have been... I have only to characterize it; that's the only reason they're opposed to it --that Hubbard has instituted an incredible educational capability. They hate it. Absolutely hate anything... [Editor's note: Reverend Jentzsch is not as familiar with the editorial content of Penthouse as he thinks. Among the very many critical articles on psychiatry the magazine has published are " Psychiatric Holocaust" (January 1979), "Psychiatry Kills" (April 1981), and "Electroshock: The Horror Continues" (June 1982)] My current frame of mind is that the media will have to prove to us that they have some sort of modicum of ethics and integrity... At this current point, I have no reason to trust them. None at all. I find them rapacious. I find them to be not interested in anything... Six and a half million people who are living good lives, with a tremendous capability...but I don't find the media wanting to cover any of that...

"I fear they will take advantage of the good will of the people who continue to show up," Keaton continued. "For my money, that's disrespectful. At some point, you either have to write the check or do something and not assume, well, we're OK and, ultimately, the franchise is valuable, anyway, like Donald Sterling did with the Los Angeles Clippers. Look, I'd do it, too, if I were a businessman," Keaton said. "But, at some point, you've got to win. I think fans have been gracious. And maybe not vocal enough. Maybe not vociferous enough with their displeasure. That's my opinion."
