Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.
We're like actors, turned loose in this world to wander in search of a phantom, endlessly searching for a half formed shadow of our lost reality. When others demand that we become the people they want us to be, they force us to destroy the person we really are. It's a subtle kind of murder. The most loving parents and relatives commit this murder with smiles on their faces.

The world could have been a much different place, had the North been victorious. It could have been a world without slavery and a world where monarchies were antiquated. Had the South been defeated at Gettysburg a unified America could have rose from the blood soaked fields, instead of the fractioned jumble that did. But a twitch occurred. A young lieutenant rose above his office and defied nature and fate, he led the South up to an impossibly victory. The world was changed forever.
Jonathon Cross never dwelled on the “what could have been”. He was only thirteen years of age and the actual world held enough awe to suffice him. And oftentimes it held too much awe. He was a different boy than most, he was thoughtful and considerate, careful and patient. He found it difficult to find friends and girls found him nothing short of peculiar. He spent his days reading of science in the library of Fort Resistance and his nights staring into the stars. The world’s past and the world’s possible futures interested him little, but the world’s present held him spellbound.
The car lurched around a corner and Jonathon banged his head on the window he had been peering through. Ricky “Sixteen” glanced over at him with a touch of a smile on his lips.

Let Me Be
(Xavier Rudd)
Let me be now let me be
I want to be free now free to see
I want to walk away let me feel my feet
Let me be free
Time and time and time we see
These acts against humanity
Each for each and each will bleed
And shed blood for what they each believe
On and on and on we go
Some will you see and some won’t be
True to you and truth will lead
You to a sense of peace

'm floating in a black balloon
o.d. on easter afternoon
my mama told me baby stay clean
there's no in between
and all you ladies and you gentlemen
between is all you've ever seen or been
fit poorly and arrange the sight
doll it up in virgin white
you disappoint me
you people rakin' in on the world
the devil's script sells
you the heart of a blackbird
shine on me baby cause it's rainin' in my heart
sun is rising on a chopping glare
rain dropping acid blotter in the air
a distorted reality's now a neccessity to be free
so disappointing
so first i put it all down to luck
god knows why my country don't give a fuck
fuck
shine on me baby cause it's rainin' in my heart
shine on me baby cause it's rainin' in my heart

What are the differences between
mainstreaming and inclusion?
What is the definition of LRE?
What are the attitudes of teachers and students toward SPED kids?
What are the laws on inclusion?
How much of a distraction could it be in the regular classroom?
How is it implemented in different parts of the world and different states?

During Instruction
10 legs on the floor at all times!
When I say, “all eyes on me”, it means put your pencil down and look at me. Don’t worry about taking notes during this time.
If you get called over to the round table, bring your books with you and have a seat, quietly. Do not disrupt other students doing work at their desks.
(Group Work procedures are set up through our Social Skills T-Charts. This will also be modeled and practiced at the beginning of the school year, so the students get accustomed to working in cooperative groups.)

I am writing this letter in regards to Estevan Jaimes. I have had the pleasure of working with Estevan since January of 2004. There are not enough words to describe what an incredible young man Mr. Jaimes is. He is a model employee, who has been a leader for my team in all aspects of sales and customer service since the first day he came to work for me. He is a very dedicated, loyal employee who puts his best forth in even the simplest of tasks.

Waveform activity: There is prominent 25 hz beta activity in anterior and central preponderance but also present over temples and posteriorly. The posterior alpha rhythm is 10 hz intermixed with posterior beta 15-25 hz as well. Hyperventilation was accompanied by prominent muscle artifact and eye muscle artifact. Patient complained of feeling “awful” with face numbness, lightheaded, felt panicky. Stopped hyperventilation after 2 minutes, 50 seconds. No abnormal electrographic activity seen. Photic stimulation resulted in more muscle tension and eye movement artifact. No asymmetry nor epileptiform discharges seen. Throughout the remainder of the recording patient’s forehead remained tense (manifested by EMG artifact). The patient did not exhibit drowsiness nor sleep. There were no focal or generalized abnormal discharges, no asymmetry.

Hey all, I thought I'd top this thread to share something you all might think is cool. I'm not to familiar with Phish except for what I've read on this board and the fact that my kids fav. ice cream used to be B&J's Phish Food.
Anyways, I just starting reading "Between a rock and a hard Place" by Aron Ralston. This is the story of the guy (Ralston) who had to amputate his own arm after getting it caught while rock climbing. I've only read the first chapter, but I've already gotten to the part were he gets his arm stuck. The cool part is he talks about the start of his hike and everything he has with him, water, food, backpack, climbing gear, and his cd player and his favorite Phish CD. He even mentions that he is listening to the second set of the 2-15-03 show in Las Vegas, a show he attended. They even quote some lyrics to give the reader a feel for what he is listening to and feeling as he moves along his fateful hike......
how is it I never see..
...the waves that bring her words to me?
The fact that he makes mention of his favorite band, and a specific show, and how it seems to be important to him, makes it seem all the more real since that's something we all here can relate with.
Anyways, for what its worth, I thought I share this. Its an awesome story about a awesome person and his amazing ordeal.
<I posted this in the "Phish discussion thread" earlier today and I always copy and paste long posts to a program where I can check my spelling, and then I copy and paste it back here>

Date of Accident: 05 March 2000
Airline: Southwest Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 737-3T5
Location: Burbank, California, USA
Registration: N668SW
Previous Registrations: G-BLKB, N753MA
Flight Number: 1455
Fatalities: 0:142
MSN: 23060
Line Number: 1069
Engine Manufacturer: CFM International
Engine Model: CFM56-3B1
Year of Delivery: 1985
Accident Description: Arriving in Burbank on a flight from Las Vegas, NV, the crew contacted SOCAL Approach and were told to expect the visual approach to runway 8 at BUR. Approximately 10 miles from the field, while descending to 3000 feet, the crew was instructed to maintain 230 knots until further advised. One minute later, the crew was cleared for the visual approach to runway 8, with an instruction to maintain 3,000 feet until passing the Van Nuys VOR (approx 6nm from the runway).
For unknown reasons, the flight crew passed the VOR and failed to start their descent from 3000 feet. 3.9nm from the runway threshold, at an airspeed of 230 knots and an altitude of 3000 feet, the crew began their descent to land. Due to the steep nature of the descent (nearly 7°), the crew received two "sink rate" warnings at approximately 400' AGL, and a "pull up" warning at 190' AGL. The aircraft touched down 2800' down the 6032' runway with a groundspeed of 181 knots.
Despite using max reverse thrust, spoilers, and brakes, the crew was unable to stop the aircraft before the end of the runway. The plane broke through a blast fence at approximately 40 knots, skidded across Hollywood Way, and came to rest 38' from a Chevron gasoline station. The aircraft was evacuated via the escape slides.

Mold in Furniture – A piece of furniture may become contaminated by mold if it has come into contact with excessive moisture or with settled mold spores. These settled spores might aggravate allergies in some people.
It is highly recommended that affected furniture be removed from the home in order to improve the air quality and reduce the risk of respiratory illnesses.
Cleaning the furniture can not ensure the complete removal of mold. Such items as couches and mattresses must be specially treated in order to completely remove mold. With such items as bed pillows, throw pillows, and stuffed animals, however, it may be more cost effective to dispose of the items than to treat them.

As Commanding Officer and Equal Employment Opportunity Officer, I am personally committed to the principles of equal opportunity. Our nation's diversity is one of its most enduring strengths. A workplace free from unlawful discrimination and reflective of our Nation's diversity is central to maintaining a mission-ready workplace. It is essential that we maintain an environment free of harassment, including verbal or physical conduct that creates an intimidating or hostile work environment for any individual. I hold managers and supervisors of this organization personally accountable for carrying out this responsibility along with me and for ensuring their actions and decisions are consistent with the principles and intent of the Department of the Navy Equal Employment Opportunity Program. All employees are responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with the principles of equal opportunity as they work with each other and as they interact with others regardless of assigned duties.
I am fully committed to attracting and maintaining a competent and diverse work force. As we are a small organization, innovation and creativity will be needed to make diversity and affirmative employment a greater reality and to accomplish those goals established by the Department of the Navy for increased representation of minorities and those with targeted disabilities in the workforce. We must all work together to embrace the rich perspectives that all individuals bring to the workplace, and to create an environment that allows all to utilize their full potential to contribute to mission accomplishment. I fully expect managers and supervisors to support these values in their workplace decisions.

If the Yankees are down by two runs in the ninth inning, and somebody walks -- like Matsui did in Game 6 -- apparently it's as good as a home run. That's how Tim McCarver explained it last night. I'm not sure if just the Yankees are immune to double plays, or if it's everyone in the league. But it's an interesting development.

It´s late in the ev´nin´
she´s wond´rin´ what clothes to wear
she puts on her makeup
and brushes her long blond hair.
And than she asks me: "Do I look alright?" and I said:
"Yes, you look wonderful tonight!"
We go to a party
and everyone turns to see
this beautiful lady,
whoes walking arround with me.
And than she asks me: "Do you feel alright?" and I said:
"Yes, I feel wonderful tonight ...
...I feel wonderful because I see the lovelights in your eyes, and I wonder,
after all, that you just don´t realized, how much I love you!"
It´s time to go home now
and I´ve got an aching head.
So I give her the carkeys
and she helps me in the bed.
And than I tell her,
as I turn off the light, I said:
"My darlin´ you were wonderful tonight!"

As we sit in the class that we all willingly took "Writing Composition for Teachers" many minds wander thinking exactly what we are to get out of the class. The title of the coursleaves much to the imagination, and makes students wonder exactly what knowledge is to be extracted from the course. For the most part, we have been trying many techniques to harness students writing ability by touching upon theories of others. As we struggle through Vygotskain Perspectives and questions arose by Hillocks, it almost seems as if we are chasing our own tails. The plights that we tackle each day are not dissimilar to the same problems we are tryign to confront. To learn, we must be able to identify, and be doing that, we must utilize things that we can relate to. In this paper I intend to show that using Popular Culture, and some of the techniques that their works elicit, that we are able to make a more prolific classroom.
"We Live in an Age when drama in quite new ways, is built into the rhythms of everyday life"(Williams127) Raymond Williams, making a commentary on day to day life, notes that due to the drama that surrounds us, we experience more drama in a week than previous people did in their whole life time, and Hillocks finds television to be the largest provider of drama in the narrative form. "How many narratives can one tap into, without reading, at any given time in the United States? Narratives dominate TV from news to commericials. They provide the content of many popular songs and even when they do not, a narrative is likely to show up in the video version"(Hillocks127)
Hillocks reminds us that the personal narrative within our own lives is the most important of all, but he is sympathetic to the idea of television weighing heavily on the impact that it has on teaching writing. He speaks about how we live in a world in which the dramatic narrative is relatively impossible to escape, and although the fact that it is all around us doesn't simply merit it as something we should use for teaching, but the fact that it has the potential to help guide children in the classroom, it would be foolish not to use it to help writing students.
One might argue that a teacher and author of a textbook might be lukewarm to the idea of incoporating something as television with its potential for shallowness , but George Hillocks and Raymond Williams seem to be advocates of it. Hillocks notes that "Writing that acheives empathic response is arguably the most important kind in our culture".(Hillocks128) Coupled with Williams quote that "If we include television and cinematic productions, there is no question of its wide ranging importance and influence.(Williams128)
Empathic reponse is so important with the current culture and breed of students, because often times, students feel that they have no one to relate to. Hillocks is quick to mention (while I concur heavily) again, that we would be hard pressed to find an example of literature and television that does not rely heavily on empathic response. Part of the reason shows like Seinfeld are extremely popular, because it delivers an empathic view of life that we are all accustomed to, while accenting it with humour, but of course the reason it is funny is because we identify with it, and while this phenomenon certainly has little to do with the emergence of popular culture, one would certainly admit that it gives it quite an accesible vehicle to latch onto.
Personal empathic narratives have become exceedingly popular recently, which could be attributed to many things, but whether the reason, Hillocks is more than willing to ride the trend, as he sees it fit for the classroom. "The usefulness of personal empathic narrative and its appeal to students, it seems to be, can hardly be questioned. I would be argued that it should be included in every level of curriculum.(Hillocks 129)
Thus far, the inclusion of popular culture into the classroom, has been endorsed by George Hillocks. The positive attributes that are utilized are seen by him to encourage young students to emulate the empathic narratives popularized by television and current novels. In the tradition of the Vygotskian perspectives, there is another person who seems to encourage using it to get the best of their students.
As like the other students who found ourselves perhaps a little intiminated by the task at hand, I found myself scouring the 4th floor of the library looking to find a subject that would coincide with the previous statements and examples given previously by the authors in our curriculums who were staunch in their endorsement for allowing popular culture issues to supplement the learning process, when I must have been blessed by picking up the 1987 volume of the English Journal, who's prime objective seemed to really reinforce exactly just how important in this day and age how popular culture can make quite the impact on a students life.
David Farmer, a high school teacher in Pennyslvania, was not only enthused to tell his story about how popular culture helped grab attention of his class, but he wanted to inform others to do so, so their students could reap the same benefits. As his class was researching the world during the tensions before the second World War, Farmer insisted on using "The VCR and 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' as a tool"(Farmer31).
Student particpation and interest seemed to be at an all time high, and Farmer attributed it all to the film he showed and in the infusion especially of the VCR, which Farmer found to be the most pleasant of suprises.
Continuing on, Farmer speaks not only with intensity, but with another agenda to woo a crowd that may still be apprehensive to the fact that recent remakes of the classics may give a skewed perception of the authors intial intent.
"In a Society as diverse as ours, whether new technological splashes are made create waves felt throughout society. And when improvements happen along that male our jobs easier, more effective, efficient and enjoyable, its out responsibility to investigate the use of technology." (Farmer 31)
David Farmer does consider himself something of a "purist" when it comes to the field, but he is adamant about making his point that we should embrace the tool instead of banishing it for its ease of use and convienience, which some feel may add to the society of which many feel today is one of instant gratification.
What continues to amaze farmer is the traits in which using the VCR to view works of popular culture and how they are quite similar to that of working with the books themselves. With both reading the passage from a book as well as watching a presentation on television, it is a tool to supplement learning, as well as creating checkpoints along the way.
"The VCR gave us flexibility. We could watch the first exciting twelve minutes. stop the tape and discuss elements of introduction, mood, supsense and characterization--and view it again. The Tapes can be stopped rewound, or fast forwarded for discussion or illustration of a point. (Farmer 31)
Farmer's contribution to the English Journal 17 years ago is enough to give one pause. Something that is as common as the VCR now has made Farmer feel like he's not only uncovered a holy grail of wealth that should be integrated in the classroom, but he continues on like a kid at Christmas, who's new toy, no matter how long he's been playing with, has no fear of the novelty wearing off. The enthusiasm of a teacher that is obviously smitten enough with an idea to take time out to write an article about it is defintley likely to translate his new found happiness into an unbridled attempt at making his students as happy about his discovery as he has. Not only does the idea impress him and his students, it helps those who want to find their way into teaching all the more ready to accept the challenge of educating a sometimes bewildered youth, as well as giving more seasoned professionals a new found hope into improving their classrooms.
"We expanded on the tape with the background study of 1930-40 adventure serials, research on the Ark of the Covenant, and some pre- WWII history. Interest, to say the very least, was at an all time high. It was gratifying to see such eager anticipation from one of normally-less-than-interested studens. At one point, my supervisor arrived to observe for 15 minutes--he stayed for the entire 43 minute period (Farmer 32)
This breakthrough for Farmer is highlighted by one thing that teachers and non teachers alike hold very dear, its cost efficiency.
"The rental of one 16 mm movie can be well over $100. Pre-recorded video tapes can now be rented for 99 cents a day and good quality blanks can be purchased for under $10.00" (Farmer 32)
The prices in both directions have gone down severely since this article has been written, but even then by what we may have considered more outrageous prices still seemed like a bargain to him because of all the positive aspects that using popular culture as elicited.
He continues to gush, of course, saying how willing the students were to come to class and learn about a previously undesirable suject and now, even if the subject seemed dry, if the their were the promise of perhaps the aid of popular culture's films lending a hand, that they would be eagerly awaiting it.
"Seventeenth century Londoners were entertained by Will's Troupe in the Globe. Thoday, people are mesmerized by the TV. If we can dazzle-dust to accomplish our goals of education, we'd be foolish not to take advantage of it" (Farmer32)
Anne Dyson, a contributing author to Vygotskian perspectives, researched a classroom to see what kind of benefits and overall factors that the inclusion of popular culture had in the classroom. In her observation, she noted an example in which two boys used fictional heroes from one of their favorite shows to create new scenarios involving previously proven crimefighters with characters that they had recently just discovered in class.
Sammy, an african american boy, and Patrick, a european born american student, were eager to show their class a production they had put together including "The Power Rangers", a popular afternoon serial including teens that daily quell world domination, against newly discovered Hercules, mythical god. Although the characters in which they used had of course been invented by storytellers on a much larger scale, because of the awe they created, the boys were very determined to make an original story using characters that were already dear to their heart.
"Sammy and Patrick had used cultural material to form a pleased imagined world; that world reflected and reinforced their sense of social connection and their common desire to be good guys saving the world from evil."(Dyson128)
Dyson goes on to stress the Vygotskian idea that "those working from sociocultural perspectives have stressed the link between children's literacy learning and their participation in community life"(Dyson128). In this day and age, it is without out any doubt that elements in both socioculture and and community life have come to include the idea of children watching television and movies and passing it in to friends and family, inevitably becoming an immersion into daily life.
The two boys who seemed to be in charge of the production, have been indicated to come from different both socio-economic and ethinc backgrounds, both find a common ground in their hero-worship that they find daily while watching the Power Rangers. While it is completely possible that they are drawn to the fast paced action and obviously attractive aspects which included narrow escapes and heroic pursuits, a postive side effect that comes from watching the show is that the power ranger troupe of crime fighters is a multi ethnic group of teenagers, which must have left an impression on the children. Even after the initial confusion of non-viewers of the show began to subside, and began to embrace the programming as well as Sammy and Patrick's interpretation of the "epic battle" between the multi cultural/ethnic group of Power Rangers versus Hercules, there is little denying that the imagination spawned from the characters and plots in question have helped utilize the positive attributes of popular culture's effect on the obvious growth of student's comprehension ofa subject, as well as their passion and enthusiasm in the display of a work they wre obviously proud of. The bottom line is that regardless of what the sociocultural background of the students is that because of the infusion of popular culture into the classroom, children were incredibly eager to offer their comments and criticisms, as well as proudly displaying the stories that they feel are worth telling. On top of all of that as well, at a young age, while the young mind is still very impressionable, it is imporant to show that there is no need for segreation, proving that regardless of the color of their skin, if they find a common ground to devote their energy to, its much more than merely an "added bonus"
The three articles in question, which I used for this expiriment seem to feed off each other more than take away from. All of them encourage the use of popular culture and its techniques. While Hillocks at first seems apprehensive, he notes that we must roll with the punches if we are to continue to keep students interested, and the methods of empathic response which became increasingly popular over the integration of movies and television into our culture is a positive thing, and that it should be included in "every level of curriculum" as its gradually over time became a staple of our day to day lives.
Dyson is very quick to point out the positive aspects that popular culture has on its young impressionable students. While one might argue that the flashy colors and quickly summarized plots might deter children from the learning process, she's found that its become something that children of all backgrounds can embrace, and with right combination of popular culture learned out of the class room with the intergration of old classics written and read in the classroom make for a marriage that includes the eagerness of children to participate and display their newfound talents as much as possible.
Farmer is overenthused with idea, and doesn't seem to want to rest until his message is heard. Nary a negative word is spoken about the use of popular culture and technology in the classroom, and his ideas are consistent with that of Dyson, Hillocks and Williams. All of authors in question have made it clear that even if one is begruding to the idea at first, that as aspiring teachers who strive to get the utmost attention and creativity out of our students, we would be very foolish and proud to admit that we can't benefit from the works of Hollywood, Burbank, Tinseltown, and Blockbuster video.
Certainly, I hope that this response paper dosen't seem trite and contrived. With everyone a little befuddled by the works of Vygotsky and Hillocks, it seemed like this was a perfect oppurtinty for me to clarify their intentions by showing that even the authors in question and their contributors may seem a little heavy handed, that even they endorse an indulgence that we all take part in as something that can be a very useful tool in teaching education.
Popular Culture hasn't been around forever. For years upon years, books were based mostly on a heroic pursuit, usually revolving honor, love, and underlying tones of religious purpose. These elements still make their way into literature and the classroom today, but children feel alienated by what they feel are archaic subjects that seem well beyond accesible. The inevitability of it is that children are drawn to the glitz and glamour of movies and television, which although sometimes promote intelligence too often diminish the learning process by giving children somethign of a quick fix, solving the problems for them, and not allowing for any room for thought. However, not all elements of popular culture are offenders, and when properly used, can help supplement the learning process rather than hinder it.

NEUM DOGG: shes past her expiration date
markatz44: what?!?!
markatz44: 35 is past her expiration date?
NEUM DOGG: girls expire at 30
markatz44: what does that mean
markatz44: boys expire at age 25
NEUM DOGG: at 30, thier looks begin to go
NEUM DOGG: it doesntmatter for boys, marlene
markatz44: yeah i am sorry but it does. why do you think mroe and more older women in hollywood are going for young dudes
markatz44: your sex drive goes down right when women's goes up
NEUM DOGG: in hollywood, yes......in the real world no
NEUM DOGG: yea, and the bank account goes up for a man as he gets older
markatz44: you don't think your looks also go by age 30? lots of guys are alreayd losing there hair at age 24!
NEUM DOGG: they do, but it doesnt matter as much for guys!
markatz44: why
markatz44: because girls are deeper and not as superficial as men?
markatz44: i guess in that case you would be right
NEUM DOGG: hahhahaha...t.hats rich
NEUM DOGG: girls are worse
markatz44: well if you are telling me that girls go for men that are bald an no longer cute then they must be less superficial
NEUM DOGG: they have money....thats why they go for them
markatz44: you have been working in LA too long my friend
NEUM DOGG: you are living so far under a rock, its ridiculous
markatz44: i do not know a single woman like that
NEUM DOGG: yet
NEUM DOGG: this has nothing to do with women being equal
markatz44: that will go for a guy just cuz he has money. sure they exist....but they are not the larger part of the population
NEUM DOGG: YES THEY AR!
NEUM DOGG: it is nature, marlene!
markatz44: i know it doesn't. but i think you have such a warped view of things cuz you are working in more of a superficial industry
markatz44: it is not nature! bullshit....women make money for themselves now.
NEUM DOGG: women, FOR THE MOST PART, want to be taken care of
NEUM DOGG: men want to take care of women
markatz44: that doesn't always mean money. they can make their own money. they want someone that can take care of them emotionally....yes
NEUM DOGG: this has NOTHING to do with the industry
NEUM DOGG: ridiculous
markatz44: there are a lot of actresses that just want to marry a righ man so they don't have to worry
markatz44: rich man
NEUM DOGG: forget actresses!
NEUM DOGG: forget hollywood
NEUM DOGG: this goes much further than that
NEUM DOGG: why in the hell do you think the majority of households are supported by the father?!
markatz44: a) things are changing in that respect b) because the women tend to have babies eventually and during that time, yes, the man works
markatz44: but more and more women go back to work after they have kids
NEUM DOGG: its not chnaging
NEUM DOGG: where is this proof!?
markatz44: it has already changed drastically from when our parents started having families
markatz44: i will find some statistics for you
markatz44: how abbout even personal proof.....when my mom wanted to go to college, she couldn't cuz the money was saved for her brother to go. so she married and wroked to put my dad through law school until she had us. most of her friends it was the same exact way. But now look, all of our friends from high school are pursuing their own career and will be able to support themselves.....
markatz44: so it has already changed a lot
markatz44: michelle did not have to marry oleg for money, melissa won't have to marry adam for money, carrie won't have to marry jared for money
markatz44: etc
markatz44: i never want to have to live off of my husbands income alone
NEUM DOGG: let me ask you this.....do you think its smart to have both parents being doctors and working those hour
NEUM DOGG: s?
markatz44: whether i think it is smart or not does not matter....the fact is that women these days do not want to give up their careers permanently. a lot of people make compromises too, the husbands help out more.
NEUM DOGG: answer the question....
markatz44: i think that when a baby is first born, one of the parents should take a year or two off for the baby.....after that i think you make compromises. my doctor at Kaiser now works only mornings so she can be home when the children come home
markatz44: i think it is nice for one of the parents to be home soon after the child gets home
NEUM DOGG: just like a politician

Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I take my kids to a lot of shows and I am concerned for their hearing. Regular ear plugs really don't cut it. Does anyone know where Dave gets the ear phone thingys that you see his girls wearing? I want them to enjoy the shows and not be deaf by the time they are 20....
