yeah they are a good guitar. There is a large group out there that are huge fans of these. A friend of mine is one, he loves them. i almost bought a 12 string a year or so ago. They are nice guitars. I think all of them from what I was told are built by hand. & a local dealer just told me that Seagull will only make them now as dealers need them. So thats kind of cool, its not a company that is mass producing them.

really awesome guitars...my first guitar was a seagull S6 Cedar. It cost me about 200 bucks slightly used and it was a great guitar. I have a taylor now, which i love, but i can't say that I have completely stopped playing my seagull just cuz its so damn nice. It just has a very unique feel that is hard to top.

Best guitars for their price, period.

I would really look into getting one, but they're hard to find sometimes.

Just echoing what others have said- there are few guitars for the money that can match the sound and playability.

how much does a seagull run for? I just went to the website and they look like very solid guitars.

S Series - S6+ CW Cedar (I might actually look into this one. I love the look of it.)
M Series - M6 Cedar GT
M Series - M6 Gloss

were my favorites.

One of the local shops sells them for dirt- you can get solid wood guitar for the neighborhood of $250. It's ridiculous. There's nothing better sounding at the entry-level. The downsides have to do with action- if they could sort that out at this price point they'd have the most popular guitar on the market (and wouldn't be able to keep up with demand).

Now that's a good deal. I have tossing around the idea of getting a 12 string and Seagull makes a nice looking one....maybe I will look into that one.

There is a Seagull dealer here in Norman...I think I will go check em out.

Which model do you think is the best?

I know nothing about the individual models, unfortunately.

I can't comment on a 12-string- I've heard good and bad. One of the things that makes these guitars cheaper is their neck construction. I'd do some serious homework about the reinforcment for the extra set of strings. If it's a simple rework of the headstock and bridge of a 6-string (Ala Washburn) then you might be in trouble for longevity.

Tomorrow after class I am going to go the music store and they are supposed to have some.
