This is a song my buddy and I recorded at a studio in NY over the summer. We're working on mixing it for a demo. I'd appreciate any mixing suggestions you may have that would make the song as good as possible. Thank you!

This thread was your first demo of that song, and i remember liking it. In fact, i recognized it imeadiatly and had to go search for it again.

I have to say, its improved tremendously since, mostly because of the studio quality given to it. The lyrics are not mindblowing, but theyre well forming, and your singing is good enough to carry them well.

I very much enjoyed the solo, though it seemed a little too simple. I guess the sound effects really work with it. the sound effects work well, and the keys add a nice ambience. the sound on the ending is perfect, IMHO

The 'sunlight dancing in the rain' part, coming from the verses, sounds classic rock to me. I want to say doors inspired, this song is, emphasis on inspired and not sounding.

Overall, I'll give this an 8.5. I definitaly enjoyed the song and dont mind listening to it more than once, which is something I dont say often at all on these boards. Id like to hear any other stuff you have, though unfortunatly i must say i thouroughly disliked the last song you posted in DMBc.

Good job man, keep it up :)

I'm glad Emma is back

I'm not a musician so take this as a music lover's opinion. The intro has earie sound that catches my attention. The music has a nice bluesy sound to it. The lyrics don't do much for me. I give it a :thumbsup

Thanks Erich and OCMarsh. It's nice to know the song has improved in a years time. That thread you linked, Erich, is a strange link to the past. First of all, I posted this studio version almost exactly a year after I first recorded it. Secondly, if you look at post #9 in the old thread, you'll see that wine2tears mentioned a friend of his in Boulder. The person he's talking about is now my bandmate, best buddy, and we live together. It's crazy to see how real life can unfold a little on the internet.

Thanks for the analysis. From your past reviews, I know you don't hold back when you dislike something:

"The vocals are pretty bad. The lyrics are abysmal. Like, seriously abysmal." (http://www.antsmarching.org/forum/showpost.php?p=2161238&postcount=7)

Hahaha.

Seriously though, I now feel ok about sending this song to radio stations and record companies as part of a demo. The coolest part is that it might be played on the radio in England in the near future.
