The fact that Curtis Painter is still even in the league, nonetheless the back up of Peyton Manning is beyond me.

i watched the first episode of hard knocks. it was great. i found myself saying, "hey these guys aren't that bad, theyre pretty funn....wait a minute." and so i stopped watching. the show was impeding my ability to hate rex ryan and the jets.

eh, they really need help at the offensive line position though...which i'm sure is where this guy will be used to most...

Not really. How many sacks did this team give up last year? Like 12 or so? Brady seemed pretty confident today in who he is working behind. This move is nothing more than filling out the roster.

Right but no Logan Mankins and now the guy filling in for him is out with back surgery for the season

I guess Manning really likes the 3rd string QB for the Colts..and said the only reason Painter is 2nd string is because he has been there longer

you can make a case that Pats didn't belong in the playoffs last year also ..they should have lost week 1 the Bills were just idiots and that Ravens game when Clayton dropped a perfect wide open 4th down pass that would have gave them 1st and goal..so they got pretty lucky. Not to mention the last 5 games of their season was against weak teams.

Teams didn't lay down against the pats. They did for the jets. So not much of a case there.

Outside sources are not allowed in the trivia game that I participate in. Doesn't mean people aren't using it and cheating, but if one team got every answer right, I'm sure someone would question them.

yeah i have no idea how he keeps stepping out there without one. either he's been personally assured of one by papa kraft...or he really believes that he needs to be out there since he's under contract. i dunno. i have a feeling they have one in place that is all but official because it doesn't make sense for him to play this much preseason football without a done deal.

how much has manning played this preseason in comparison?

I think Manning has played about the same amount...Another QB i'm wondering why he continues to go out there....one difference is Brady has dealt with injuries a lot over the last few years..and a rib one that he got in last years pre-season that bothered him all season.

Manning was promised before the super bowl he would be the highest paid quarterback...but yet no contract.

From what I've read today Brady is playing till the half and Manning is playing into the 3rd

I feel like Manning is due for an injury and going into a season where there is only 1 starter on his O-line from last year..this could be the year he does.

also, anyone see that stupid new rule..you have to wait for the umpire to get behind the deepest back before you can snap the ball..so the QB has to look over to the line judge and wait for him to point..

They called Manning on an illegal snap twice because of..Manning was flipping out...They have to change the rule back..you can't run a hurry up offense at all like that.

alright look...before we get into peyton v brady again, which we'll never agree on, why can't we just agree that brady played well tonight. he really did. 18-22, 273 yards, and 3 TDs is not a bad effort. not when half your offense is the 2nd team. sure the rams had the 2nd string out there. but we weren't rolling out our complete #1 squad either.

pretty clear we weren't trying to run the ball tonight. im sure we'll save that for next week because i don't see brady playing much, if at all.
the defense was horrid. like...awful. we can score 30 points a game this year and they'll fuck it up for us.

hitting moss in stride, throwing that bullet to welker in the 3rd and that TD to Gronkowski were all Brady at his best. i cant wait to see what this offense is gonna do

he stacked most of his stats against the Rams second line..Kinda like how he stacked all his stats against shitty teams last year

:lol:lol

the pass where he hit moss in stride, that doesnt matter what line of defense he's facing...moss will burn through any corner even at his age and speed now, so it's all a matter of brady and moss connecting in stride

^ you don't think tony romo will fuck it up as usual? :lol

nah they should be pretty solid too. i just have zero faith in wade phillips ability as a shell of a coach. i know it's garrett's team, but still :lol

haha Romo probably will :( The thing I like about Romo you can tell he is just happy to be here.

Yeah I can't wait to see what their Offense can do..the same offense that could only score once in the first half against the RAMS starters...that pass to Moss.. he wouldn't even be able to get off against a team with a decent defense

with 16 games, it's at a good point where every game matters. you throw in 2 more, it takes away from that a bit. plus, with players banged up, we're gonna have scrubs finishing out the year. nah eff that shit. keep it at 16.

Brady's gonna be on EEI tomorrow this week. Must have been some scheduling issue. At least according to the Pats twitter.

And if 3 years is good enough for Brady, I'm happy with it too. With a longer contract there's no way he'd be worth the money in those later years.

oh ok. my bad then.

You'd be out of your mind if you think the Manning and Brees deal is only going to be 3 years..

I just feel like at this age, 2 years removed form a season ending injury you might want to lock it up for a few maybe 6 years...even if you don't play all 6 (that Pats/Bledsoe deal would have went into its last year this season) at least the years are there.

Oh i was hoping it would end up being Ben Roethlisberger, because I really don't want to get into another Brady/Manning debate BUT

Mannings Regular season stats blow Bradys away...even his post-season stats are slightly better.

Brady broke the TD record by 1...and played in all 16 games that season Manning only played in 15 the year he broke it.

Manning has a better chance each year of bringing the Colts to the Super Bowl then Brady does each year.

Manning is worth more..the Colts are nothing without Manning...Patriots showed they can win without Brady...and Peyton Manning is just an overall better QB. Brady had one huge season (2007) Manning has been MVP 4 times..which is a record

i really dont see how you came to this conclution

brady's won 2 more rings and been to double the superbowls that manning has..

The last couple years, this season and next couple seasons....Manning has the better chance to bring his team to the super bowl.

What?! :confused :lol:lol:lol:lol

Let's look at this, since Manning has been playing for the Colts he has brought them to the Super Bowl twice. Since Brady has been playing for the Patriots, he has brought them to the Super Bowl four times. Yeah, you're right, 2 > 4. :freak :ugh

Brady had one huge season (2007) Manning has been MVP 4 times..which is a record

so if mid-season stats are generally worth more than SB wins, NE fans should rejoice over the heart-breaking 18-1, because, hey, they were undefeated during the season, right? Had they lost one during the season but won the Super Bowl, everyone would be talking about that one loss, right?

Bull. Fucking. Shit.

Also, show me all the rings NE won without Brady. Thanks, but you're up shit creek without a paddle, bud.

History has shown that Moss worse years were his contract years..which you would not expect but Moss is just a weird dude...but you're right a 33 year old receiver who is clearly on the the down side of his career is a hard sign..if they do resign him i don't see more then 2 years.

i was comparing Harrison prime v. Freeney's prime.

While SB achievements are team things, you can't take away from a QB just because he's won multiple Super Bowls, nor can you discount it. You also have to understand that Brady won ALL three super bowls without superstar guys. There weren't any stand-out guys. Hell, he had some guys playing both Defense and Offense. Manning has always had insane weapons, and the years the Colts didn't really do too well is because all his super stars have sucked, were injured, whatever.

I think Manning is the better QB, but its very close. I'd rather have Tommy on my team than Manning, though. Statistically, he's better at getting squads to the SB. You can't argue that.
