Sports Radio is always a bad decision, unless it's Chicago's 670thescore after a Bears' loss. Those two hosts yell and cry and it's the funniest shit ever.

Jets upcoming opponents are Minn, @ Denver, Green Bay, at Detroit, at Cleveland, Houston, Cinci.
Then they finish with Pats, Miami, at Pitt, at Chicago, Buffalo. Both teams have some tough games left. That Dec. 6th game could decide the division.

Well it looks like it might turn out to be both. But from a football standpoint it's a dumb move, really for both sides. I'm pretty sure big time WR have a horrible track record when moving to a new team in season. And the Pats would basically be giving up on the entire year. Even if Moss isn't have a Moss-like year he demands double teams and opens up the rest of the field, even if he's not catching balls he's still helping this offense a lot.

Curran:
So where do we stand? Looking warily at our computers and Blackberries as conflicting information pours in on a possible deal that would send Randy Moss to the Vikings.
What the hell, let's do a roundup.
Jay Glazer at Fox Sports says the Vikings and Moss are still working on a new contract and that a deal sending Moss to Minny might happen even without a new deal.
Jason LaCanfora at the NFL Network says there has been no contact between Moss and the Vikings and no permission granted to do so.
Our own Gary Tanguay said that a pissed-off Moss had a dustup with Bill Belichick today and that Belichick picked up the phone and tried to deal Moss.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen has a player source confirming that the teams are trying to get a deal done.
My take? I've spoken to Patriots sources. I've spoken to teammates of Moss. I've spoken to Vikings coach Brad Childress (a guy who's got a spotty record with the truth when it comes to football matters). If something was up, it is now down. Laid to rest, put to bed.
Will it rise again? With Randy Moss, it always does.
A lot of vague contradictory stuff. I still think it'll happen.

Um no. They can have Moss honestly he's gone after this year either way. He's starting to pull the patented bitchy/baby Moss shit. Just get SOMETHING for him is all I ask. Something that helps this team now. Not a fucking third rounder. Brady is not going anywhere :lol With Brady it only take a snap of the finger to replace Moss with another elite WR once the opportunity presents itself......and hes also kind of a good QB.

Let's be honest for a second here. Moss is still a pretty good WR, and would probably run circles around Baltimore's crappy secondary. Taking him out, and with nobody to replace him (trade wise) only helps the Ravens. In theory anyways.
Of course, the Pats could still go crazy against the secondary with or without Moss, but not having to worry about covering him helps.

I'm definitely not counting out the offense, but you're talking about 2006. The cast you had back then is a whole lot different than what you have now. You had guys that could get open and command attention. Right now you have Welker who will without a doubt be doubled and a bunch of unprovens... and as good as they've looked, they've done it with the help of Moss.

Youth is always good, but let's not forget the growing pains that defense is going through. The Patriots are STACKED for the future and this gives them insane amounts of options. With Oakland's pick, they can get a top 3 running back in the draft... and still have a pick later in the round to take a top 5 linebacker. But not all youth pans out by year 2 or 3.

Hmm, lets think about this. Leaving a play-off contending franchise with the potential for a ring (really tough to do, but still potential), to go to a team where if the geriatric QB gets injured, he's going to have to rely on Tavaris fucking Jackson. Also, leaving the best head coach in the NFL to, well, uhhhhhhh.........?

As a Jet fan I love this move, because no matter how you look at it, it makes the Pats offense a little bit worse than it was. Their offense will still be a beast though, because I think Brady is that good. I do think Moss was worth more than just a 3rd rounder. Also gives the Jets an opportunity to put Revis on Welker and they will have a better chance to shut down the passing game.
The Pats draft is going to be ridiculous though with all those picks. They really are a good franchise - remaining competitive while stockpiling a ton of picks. a

Welker is a stud, but you should be checking out Brandon Tate, as he is the new deep threat. Welker's role will not change. He'll probably get more looks without Moss, but he isn't the same vertical kind of guy. Clearly Welker now has more fantasy value, but he by no means is going to be getting the once-intended-for Moss deep balls.

It definitely doesn't make them a better team right now. I'm not worried about the offense though. A lot of people seem to think they will instantly be below average. That is not going to happen. Either way this team is going to go as far as the defense can take them. Moss or no moss.

I love it, he's never gonna get a ring cause he couldn't get out of his own way...and I think this is Bills way of saying he won't be fucked with by a player...ever, and maybe not this week or the next, but at some point this year Randy Moss was gonna start to break the locker room up. I also like it cause the Indy secondary can use all the help it can get right now so ty pats

brady and receivers that can catch the ball are all this team needs to move the ball down field. The TE's are going to have a huge rest of the season

Think that Matt Cassel lightning is gonna strike twice? I take T-Jack all day over something called Bryan Hoyer.
It would actually be Tom Brady striking three times.

wouldn't be shocked if Pats try to move up in the draft when Ingram is ready by trading a pick but in any event I'd guess it's plausable that 2 or 3 of these 50 players could be wearing a Pats uniform next year.

It definitely doesn't make them a better team right now. I'm not worried about the offense though. A lot of people seem to think they will instantly be below average. That is not going to happen. Either way this team is going to go as far as the defense can take them. Moss or no moss.
I agree with this. It makes them slightly worse, but Brady and Welker are so good that it may not matter. It does make it a little easier for defenses to put their best defender on Welker though (Revis).

NE has enough offensive weapons to be fine. If they could just keep their D/ST sharp like they did Monday, everything will be okay. That is where they fall apart, IMO, not on the offense.

Yeah I think some people are understating the effect Moss had on the Pats' offense, drawing doubles literally all the time, freeing up receivers like Welker to operate against easier coverage. However, Tom Brady was great at the screen/slant/etc offense before 07, so I think they'll be ok, even without a HOF vertical monster like Moss.

Ok the other receivers were so effective because of Randy Moss being on the field with him
Look at the Woodhead TD, Moss was in the end zone with two guys on his hip
How they going to win shootouts with out a real number one receiver? They almost lost a shootout with the bills and that was WITH Moss...Welker and the two TEs are going to see a lot more of the safety then they did before.

Welker and the two tight ends and edelman. when welker went down last year edelman stepped right up and put up similar type numbers which was fantastic for a rookie WR converted from a QB....now welker will be double teamed and the TE's and edelman will do work with tate being the deep threat. obviously it's not moss, but this offense will adapt to what they have now which is still a great offense

I don't think they are sunk without Moss (but i was never a Moss fan boy no matter what team he was on). I don't think this move made them a better them obviously not having om the field is going to hurt them. They said they didn't want to trade him, but he asked for it and was clearly not on his best behavior this year.

For the sake of you guys I really hope so. Edelman has not done much to impress me this year, Welker is still not at 100%..and there is still not big running threat. I think Hernandez has looked the sharpest this year, the kid clearly has talent.

I wasn't a Moss fan boy(girl) either, but his production for the Patriots was undeniable. I will miss that for sure. But I also knew that one day his attitude would go down the tubes and he'd start behaving like a petulant child, and I'm with letting the petulant child go.

I pointed out his contract seasons always seem to be his worse, and has not done much the first 4 games. Yeah he had that big play against the Jets and the two tds against the Bills..but he just have not been involved as much on a play by play basis. Only looked at once this Sunday and that was on a trick play.

you're right. edelman hasnt done much this year, but he really hasnt had to...now welker will be doubled leaving room for him and the te's
i think brady's proven over the years that no matter who is on the field, he'll find them. if the D send extra blitzers brady will find the open man, if the #1 receiver is doubled, he'll check down...

Sure 2007 was a huge year..but ended with a SB loss. 2008 he was injured didn't play one full game. 2009 Put up good numbers lost in the wild card and was not a good 2nd half QB at all..and 2010 made it 4 games with Welker/Moss. Moss has been almost a non-factor and Welker is not being used as much..since he is clearly not 100%.
So to say Brady was a better QB with Welker and Moss is way off.

Peyton still has Reggie Wayne and Garcon and Clark...and Harrison was past his prime when he left.
