This team in all honesty is probably in trouble. If they win 2 out of the next 4 I will be thrilled. Pitt, Indy, Detroit (4 days after playing Indy) and NYJ. Not going to be easy. Thankfully Indy and NYJ are at home where they are very tough to beat.

which is cool...but what happen today? They played a below average team, but the Browns didn't make any mistakes which is how the Pats won a good amount of their games this season..The Chargers game, Ravens game, Bills Game....The pats kinda got exposed today as to what they really might be. Brady was not sharp (and hasent been much of the year) the Defense was bad...against a QB that hardly made the practice squad.

Will the make the playoffs? Yeah probably..but I think we saw today what the pats really are.

They just didn't play well. The Browns wanted this game more and the Pats came out flat. It honestly wasn't that hard to see this coming. Did I think they would get blown out?? No, but I knew this would not be an easy game to win.

They didnt play well? or they played how they have most of the season...just the oppenent didn't make any stupid mistakes...Even the Dolphins game was mosty Special Teams and Defense

The Offense hasen't play well this year as a whole...and the Defense has been playing better than expected...until today.

Obviously, I'm feeling this game as NE being a 2.5 point favorite. If I could bring myself to bet against the Steelers that sounds like a good bet. I really don't think the Steelers are capable of stopping the type of passing offense you guys execute and you normally don't make the mistakes that kill teams against the Steelers.

It's in Pittsburgh, the line will be Steelers by 3-ish. And I think this is one of those games where both sides are too close to it, because I feel like the Pats are gonna get killed.

That...or they got out played and out coached. QBS are completing their passes over 70% of the time against the Pats..which is fine when they are winning..but when they lose like yesterday and when its a rookie QB it becomes a lot more noticable.

That being said..there is really no elite team in the NFL this season I still feel like almost any team has a chance of making the playoffs (besides bills and cowboys) I think this will be one of the best NFL seasons in a long time....As far as the Jets they have the same record and what looks like almost the same problems the Pats have. The outcome of the Dec 6th Pats/Jets game will probably predict who will win the East and get the wild card...I'm thinking Pats still win the East and Jets pick up the WC...I think the pats will win on Dec 6th.

Huge problem will be if their kicker is hurt and they can't find a good replacement...I feel like a lot of the next weeks games will come down to a field goal or really tight games

DMBstandUP1984

I also think yesterday proved how much Moss is missed...Brady had mostly a lot of time in the pocket and nobody could get open. Welker was always had a body on him...Clearly the Edelman injury is worse then they let on, the one ball he caught was just ripped from his hands...The Branch hamstring injury is really hurting the pats there was just no explosiveness.

trippingbillie4

I'd agree with that. Even though I'm a colts fan I think at this stage of the season a win against the Colts is more likely. Too many injuries and they can't tackle for shit, their D did look a lot better yesterday though.

Teams have had 4 weeks now to study a non-moss Pats offense and I think thats what we saw yestserday just good game planning on the Browns part.

Oh ya. And you know what, having a pro bowl tight end (which Hernandez has the potential to be) can actually help out a QB like Brady more than a pro bowl receiver. Maybe won't see those huge bombs down the field but more consistent and effective on third down.

honestly take the Pink Hat off. If you don't think they got out played and out coached yesterday then you clearly do not know anything about football...Rookie Colt McCoy made the defense look like a bunch of idiots..The Pats didn't lose that game the Browns won it by playing better..the win was not handed to them. McCoy was not sacked, not even hit and didn't throw one INT. The Pats yesterday had no running game and the recievers couldn't get open to save their lives, and Brady was over throwing and leading his recievers for a better part of the game.

First off, I didn't even see the game.
Second off, I could coach the Clowns better than Mangina could.
Third off, 1/2 of New England's starting line up didn't even really play or they got pulled from the game.

It was a combination of the Browns thinking it was the Super Bowl and the Pats forgetting they had a game this week. The team that deserved to win, won. Cleveland played better yesterday. Not going to read more into it than that, though.

Exactly, that's not taking anything away from how dominant Cleveland was yesterday, but it was pretty clear that the entire Pats team was not into the game. Which is their fault, and that's why they lost.

But really, I've never seen a team celebrate getting to 3-5 and on the year like Cleveland did.

Going into this weekend, NE was 6-1, knowing that @ Pitt and hosting Indy is going to be a tough couple weeks...so, they didn't really HAVE to win this weekend. I mean, personally, I wouldn't have really put 110% into playing the Browns if I was going into Cleveland with the best record in the NFL knowing I had a tough couple weeks ahead.

I'm a fan of the Patriots, not a fan of the Patriots taking weeks off. But I think it's pretty clear that's what happened this week. I'm not happy about it, but I'm also not terribly worried about the team.

no i get it and i also get its why you say some of the things you do.

What am I saying that's so different from what everyone else has pretty much said?

Also, a quiz:
True or false: I make comments about how much I hate some of the Patriots O-Line and their mediocrity has gone on for years.
True or false: I have made fun of Tommy's hair and his need to cut his bangs many times/made fun of his wife/made fun of his life's choices.
True or false: Everyone knows I use insane hyperbole to drive home a sarcastic point 1/2 the time.

In 3 weeks that Pats will probably be 7-3. I really think Pitt will beat them, Colts/Pats will be the type of game it always has been..but with Colts winning the majority of them the last few years and the fact its in Foxboro I think the Pats will squeeze one out.

First off, I didn't even see the game.
You don't watch every game? You must not be a real fan. Herp derp
Third off, 1/2 of New England's starting line up didn't even really play or they got pulled from the game.
lulz
Fourth off, 6-2 > 3-5, or at least, I think it is.
Only true and sensical thing in this entire post.
Fifth off, if you don't think that NE played weak on purpose, you need to take your pink hat off.
Is this real life?

I'm not even talking about that. I rarely catch the Ravens play. I'm talking about the whole "if you don't think NE played weak on purpose" thing. That's the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard. More ridiculous than some of the reasons I've seen for Baltimore losing.

They may have thrown the towel in after getting whooped for 3 quarters, but you've got to be remedial to think they Belichick was in that locker room saying, "alright guys, I don't want to play too hard now. I'd like to win, but if we lose I'm alright with that too. Screw a 7-1 record and lead over the AFC halfway through the season; 6-2 is perfectly fine with me."

honestly take the Pink Hat off. The Pats yesterday had no running game and the recievers couldn't get open to save their lives, and Brady was over throwing and leading his recievers for a better part of the game.

pats were outplayed and outcoached yesterday. Special teams looked horrible and if brady wasn't accurate it was the receivers dropping passes. the defense couldnt stop the run which opened up the pass for mccoy...everything that could have went wrong did go wrong yesterday... it all starts with that muffed kickoff return because the pats only allowed 3 on the opening drive where the browns looked like they were gonna score 7

Patriots are 5-3 against Eric Mangini teams since he left..just food for thought.

is that bad? 5-3 is a winning record. mangini was 2-5 against the pats heading into yesterdays game...dominating!!!!!

They took advantage of a beat up O-line..smart preparation on their part this weekend....Where was Hernandez? The one cat I like on the team and I don't even think he played.

That being said I'm not feeling good about the Pats/Cots game next weekend..its in Foxboro and the Colts are just wayyy to beat up on both sides of the ball. I think Manning will fair a lot better than Ben (ben had big numbers but it was mostly in that 4th quarter) and the Colts D has been playing really well as of late but I feel like they are dealing with too much to overcome the injuries and pull out a win in Foxboro...I expected the Pats would be 7-2 going into the Colts game...I'm right, I just figured the loss would be against Pitt and not the Browns.

ooof I've done that drive before..its a hike. Coming back go over that long ass bridge that goes under and above the water it knocks like 45 mins off the drive time.

i drove there last year and didnt plan it out right. spend almost 3 hours getting through NY traffic... got a wicked cheap flight into baltimore for $120 roundtrip and driving into cville with a couple friends from there. thanks for the tip though. are you doing cville this year? if so then stop by ricky's tailgate, we dont have any colts or cowboys fans on the list yet ;)

According to the schedule I'm looking at it starts this week. But it could be wrong I suppose. Either way, I will be home watching the game with friends this year and NOT at a Jim Brickman concert. :lol

because his stats/records are through the roof.

Is ben roethlisberger a better QB than Manning?

I feel good that Manning sucked it up on Sunday and they still pulled out a win...their D has really stepped it up lately.

I'm not sure who Philly is playing...but if anyone is going to have a big game Sunday it should be Peyton Manning...I'm not saying Colts are going to run away with a win but he will probably still put up at least 300+ yards with a couple TDs.....I don't think Vick will have another game like he did Monday night...yeaa just checked they are playing the Giants. Most times the Giants don't play well the second time they face a team, plus they were almost due for a loss...and the cowboys MORE than over do for a win.

New coach is almost like first game with a new manager in baseball, seems like its always a win then things go back to normal.
