I agree, I like how the team has gelled and how the rookies (both on offense and defense) are really stepping up and learning their roles. I think it's a lot more fun watching the games at this point in the season this year than in 2007. There was so much pressure, plus the Pats started to weaken each week, whereas this year they are getting stronger and better each week. It's been interesting to watch the progression.

Yes Peyton is a phenomenal quarterback, but he's not accumulating all of those stats by himself either. So you can't really take the whole 'team' element out of the equation. LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- As the Chicago Bears (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/chi/chicago-bears) prepare for the possibility of playing outdoors Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/min/minnesota-vikings), they may want to use a lesson learned the hard way Sunday against the New England Patriots (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/ne/new-england-patriots).
Most of the defensive linemen switched to different cleats at halftime Sunday in snowy Soldier Field, according to one player who requested anonymity. Some players switched from molded cleats -- which have softer soles, and are considered by many to be more comfortable -- to screw-in spikes. Some switched from shorter 3/4-inch spikes -- typically used on wet or soft grass -- to one-inch spikes.
But by then, the Patriots held a 33-0 lead en route to a 36-7 blowout.
"It's not unusual for guys to change shoes under changing conditions," a team spokesman said Wednesday.
The Patriots rushed for 80 yards in the first half against a Bears defense that has given up 80 rushing yards or more in just six games all season.
"You've got to cancel the field conditions out because both teams are playing under the same conditions," Bears defensive end Israel Idonije (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=4996) said. "It comes down to who is more disciplined, who's playing with better pad level, those kinds of things.
"The field, yeah it was bad conditions, but you've just got to play differently, and you've got to adjust."
