he's a gamer, but where is there room for him? as much as i love faulk, i dont want woodhead losing any snaps and i dont want green-ellis or ridley slowing down to allow for faulk to get some carries. he's always gone by the patriot way, so i'm sure he wouldnt mind not seeing a whole lot of playing time unless there's injuries or a blowout

Yeah Ridley looked really good on Sunday and Woodhead and Law Firm are themselves. :lol And you're right, Faulk will do (or not do) whatever is needed of him, he's got that Troy Brown attitude. Still I do hope he gets to play in some capacity.

toucher and rich interviewed the porn star this morning. I guess she used to work with a sports agent and would sleep with players as a way to get them to sign with the agent. She named off a few different players shes slept with but nothing happend with her and Gronk. She did say he carries his jersey around in his suitcase in case situations like that come up, they are going to try and get her out to Boston to come in studio then get her to a pats game

I'm not a huge fan of porn stars or radio shows having naked chicks on their show...its not like I can see them. But the interview was pretty decent they asked her to named some non-married guys she slept with and she said dan uggla..then a texter texted in and said he was married.

My favorite part was how she said she wouldn't get a fake ID when she was 20 because its against the law..but she took on 16 guys in a bet she made if the packers won the super bowl last season.

I still can't believe they didn't kick deep with the 2-minute warning, time outs to work with and the time clock well past 2 minutes and change. I mean, on-side kicks are absolute desperation. Just kick it deep and maybe you can stop them. Maybe Carter strips the ball. I would not have on-side kicked right there.

rickyh24
10-30-2011, 07:26 PM
This defense hadn't stopped them all day. Why do you think kicking it was the thing to do?? Because the onside didn't work?

thebridge15
10-30-2011, 07:31 PM
Because if you onside and fail, and force them into a three and out, they can kick a FG instead of punt.

Yeah, I agree. There is no reason he should have had confidence in the defense to get a 3 and out - it was the right call.

How is that not on the refs? If it's close they should call it a td then it automatically gets reviewed with the new rule. He was clearly in the end zone. It was obvious.

Well it's obviously a bad call but it's more understandable how they miss it. It's harder to tell in regular speed and with his back to the end zone it's tough to know when the ball breaks the plane. Still doesn;t explain why they didn't challenge if it was so obvious - it changed the end of the game drastically because it took so much extra time to score.

Also, Brady took about an hour changing the play on 3rd down at the line which was strange

The only reason I can think he didn't challenge it was just in case they got it wrong. The time outs can't be wasted at that point. I agree they should face but the call should be made correctly. Especially with the new rule in place.

Fwiw, I don't think Brady played poorly today. The offense just wasn't out there enough to ever really get into a rhythm, until that last drive. The Steelers had a great gameplan and they executed really well. I think they're AFC favorites right now, but New England isn't really far behind.

Secondary cost them the game. They couldn't even stop them on multiple third and longs. It was gross. Still didn't really lose by much playing that bad. It needs to be fixed though.

Yep, I have zero confidence in the Pats defense to hold teams on 3rd down situations. The pass rush, to me, is the biggest weakness and I think that causes the secondary to look worse than it really is at times. It's already below average, but a bad secondary can look good if you can rush the passer consistently.

That game was disgusting to watch, let alone watching it with a Steelers friend. The defense's inability to get off the field was ridiculous. It felt like the Steelers had the ball 90% of the game.

BB's decision making also has to be questioned; not challenging the Gronk TD cost them two minutes, and they should've just kicked the ball deep and hope the defense could make a stop. I know they weren't too successful all day, but there's a better chance they stop 3 runs versus recovering an onside kick. And WTF is Kevin Faulk doing starting and being a feature back while BGE, Ridley and Woodhead sit? Great offensive game plan.

pathetic

Exactly. Sometimes I think BB thinks he's so smart that his asinine decisions like giving the workload to Faulk or not challenging that TD or cutting Bodden are all going to work out.

Kinda like he how keeps thinking all of those first round draft picks they trade out of are magically going to yield a new secondary and pass rush that doesn't suck. :lol

Edit: And while I'm ranting (I apologize) I think they need to add a big time deep threat WR to the list of draft needs. Will they get it? Of course not.

this Defense was in rebuilding mode last year and this year they aren't much better. i am confident that BB will do something to fix this defense, but they won't be a great defense this season...

I understand they're in rebuilding mode, but they can't keep saying that. It's frustrating when they could try to improve through the draft and they don't, all because BB thinks he can fix it.

If Brady and the offense can't get on the field because the defense sucks, then they can't score 30+ points to win.

And part of that I think is because they're later round picks. I know lately they've gotten Gronk/Hernandez and Solder (among others I know) as solid players/pieces, but maybe instead of stockpiling so many picks and consistently trading out, they should trade up to get a big DE, no?

The other thing about the game that I didn't see mentioned (it may have been--didn't see it) is if the Pats don't miss that FG, it's a 23-20 game. Had the Pats not screwed around with the time clock towards the end (Gronk non call TD) there would've been close to a minute to play with to get in FG range during the last drive. Chance to tie it for OT.

The more you post the more it looks like you don't even watch. They scored on that drive. It was a blown call. Then on one play Brady took too long. How is that a 7 minute drive to nowhere? You make no sense.

i'm not even 100% sure if thats the game. i just remember brady taking FOREVER and even me as a non-patriots fan was frustrated at the time he was taking to go down the field and score

He will be cut. Jets would give him a raise.

Yup, just like they did with Bray... oh wait a minute.

I'm talking about this week. The drive was fine. The missed call and Brady taking too long on one play fucked it up. Otherwise it was exactly what he needed to do.

i agree he did take a little long, but you have to make sure you score on that drive. pitt is not a dumb defense and they will capitalize on a mistake made by a rushed offense.

The play should have been challenged. Bill says he didn't see a replay until after so he didn't want to take a chance at wasting a TO but a challenge would have stopped the clock and they could have got the right personnel on the field. Part of the reason Brady took so long is because they had their no huddle offense out there.

aren't there people in the booth that are paid to watch for stuff like that and report back down to the coach?

No replay was shown until after the next play. How would people in the booth know for sure quickly enough to not waste a TO? They could have immediately called a TO then I'm guessing the booth would have got their replay but then you have wasted a TO either way. Which Bill thought was more valuable at the time I guess.

at that point wouldn't anything have been better then letting the play clock run down another 30 seconds.

and if it was really because brady had the no huddle offense out there...wouldn't a TO also have allowed them to get the right personal on the field?..seriously the excuse train Pats fans roll out with is pathetic(see what i did there)...and also the sheer overreaction to people calling in to local radio the last two days is even worse. Until they get someone on the staff thats not scared to speak up to BB like they used to have (when they were winning super bowls) or when he figures out how to draft a decent defensive player nothing will change.

i'm talking about everything every time they lose (lets not forget i live in boston) i hear it from everyone and sports radio...oh its this its that..when im out watching the game every time Brady throws an incomplete pass its pass interference or roughing the passer,..or its the opposite its oh no we are done we will never win another game its the end of the world we should have traded Brady after Cassell took us 11-5. Pats fan as a whole are the biggest group of losers i've ever seen half of them look like they go home and beat their wives after a loss.

trying to argue with Patriots fans is like trying to argue with someone that thinks Tupac is the greatest rapper of all time.

Im making a generalization that the majority of pats fans are fans like that. Based off a lot more then just what my friends say or the sports hub. Ive lived in Boston my whole life I think i have a pretty good grasp of their fan base.

If you have an hour or so to kill before/after the game, check out the Hall of Fame which is connected to the stadium. It's a must for any fan. Other than that, be ready to stand on every defensive 3rd down, prepare to lose your voice, and have a blast!
