in my classes mock election. :p
We finished up our unit on the presidential election. When we first started I asked them all who they would vote for and all of them except one said Kerry. We did stuff throughout the week, and we're going to vote on Monday. But they all let me know today Kerry is their man.
It was funny the things they were coming out with. One kid even said "Bush sat there for 7 minutes reading with some kids while our buildings got exploded" And another asked if it was true that "Kerry went to Panama and then threw away his medals."
Oh well, they've still got a number of years to wise up. ;)

Middle School (6th and 7th grade)
I was very surprised when almost all the kids in my class knew who was running. They all knew Kerry/Edwards and Bush but a few of them had no idea who Dick Cheney was. :lol

I teach them, yes. Sadly I'm going to be 26 in a month. But that's all I can say. I'm too depressed to discuss it any further. :(

No, 26 rocks. You're still "mid twenties", but those aged 21-24 think you're extra wise or something, but without being old(30+). It's great.

Thanks. I'm feeling a little bit better. It doesn't help working with young kids who hear 25 and think you're an old lady. :p

The first mock-election I remeber was '88 with Bush-Dukakis. I think Bush smoked him...
And sigh... I just turned 26 on Tuesday. :( Nearly my LATE-twenties! ARGH!

Feel the way I do about what?
If you had any reading comprehension skills, you would have grasped that I was talking about being depressed about my age. It seems everyone else was able to understand that.
I would never be sad about my job. I absolutely love getting up every morning and going to work. Seriously.
And if you're talking about it being sad that I'm a teacher with the way I feel about politics, go take a flying leap. (trying to be nice here :p) My politics don't enter the classroom with me, ever. We did an entire unit on the presidential election, and my kids have no idea who I'm voting for.

EDIT: even a private school teacher should be against a few of their policies

Weekly Reader called the election for Bush and they've been right the last 50 years.

That's interesting because with my school's mock election Bush won with 75% of the vote and Nader came in second with 15%. I live in Arizona if anyone's curious.
