i'm new to the whole guitar thing and i was trying to read some tabs on the internet and i was wondering what the hell it means when there is a number under the tab...like you have all six strings with the numbers but then there is also a number under all the strings...what does that mean?

I started learning to play guitar on cyberfret.com 3 years ago and hit the ground running! It's really a good place to get your feet wet.
The number under all the strings is pretty meaningless- it's a suggested fingering. Ignore it.
