Hey,

It's been a while since i've posted here, but I need some advice and I remembered that this is usually a good place to ask.

I'm looking for a decent drum machine application for Windows, for home recording, where I can create the drum loop and put it into Sonar and have it sound at least close to actual drums.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Happy New Year!

REASON 2.0 or better, no question about it.

Reson even works as a slave application in SONAR.

Sonar has lots of this stuff built in.
You can program your own midi drum loops, then either play them thru VSampler, VSC. There's also a drum composer with many midi loops in a variety of styles. You can then convert the midi to audio and tweek and process as you see fit.
Or use the looping portion of it for audio loops, which works great and sonar comes with many sample loops. You can also get lots of loops at acidplanet.com in the 8 packs and contest file downloads. Loops are the biggest bang for the buck unless your really good at programming beats with a great feel. Loops are already played by a live drummer and you can edit them, etc.
